    Great second episode.

To think this is what Firefly could have been if people weren't so short sighted.

I thought it was a bit meh.
    OT X-wings though!!!

Felt like this was a transition from the old west setting into a more space based setting for a couple of episodes at least. Cool setup on the
    trap at the start.

Episode three was great, the show keeps getting better and better.

Agreed but think it would have suffered if they stretched it out

    Edit: Unless he met
    Ahsoka
It's and that was were the episode ended

This would have been a great show in the 80s when people liked the a team and knight rider.

Now it's very vanilla and very safe. Not a single event is a surprise

Slow burner of an episode. Like how they're building up to something big

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

Yeah definitely something going on. Feels like they're keeping it subtle for now though

Feels like they missed something out in the edit on this episode. All in a base, some new information about them using a child for something (seems like not baby yoda, a different child from the time line they are talking about) Mando goes running off in one direction, others go running off in a different one and fetch a vehicle. Meanwhile Mando has presumably used a transporter from Star Trek to fetch the child from school and his ship which was in for major repairs that were going to take days as of that morning is somehow repaired and good as new.

As for lizard guy, didn't get the reason for him tagging along for the mission at all. Does none of the rest of them know how to drive a speeder.

Have loved all the previous episodes, but think this ended up with half the story on the cutting room floor.

I think the reason for lizard guy tagging was for comedy value kind of like C-3PO.
I knew they would end upper taking that land transport just knew it. I thought the spender getting crushed was cool. I think lizard guy must have owned it and would not or did not want anyone else to drive it . Ye mandarin must have hit super speed on his jet suit to get back get his super quick repaired ship back in the air get baby Yoda and to go help the other 3 in that time who seemed to be taking the long route back to there town.
It was not a perfect episode but I enjoyed it for what it was an easy half hours watch of entertainment.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I don't know what was the bigger reveal today
    Grogu
or "Tell me where your Master is! Tell me where to find
    Grand Admiral THRAWN
!" Of course if you watched Rebels it makes perfect sense but I really hope it isn't just a link back to that and that there is real substance to it and he'll appear.

I'm really enjoying it but it's jumping around a lot. It feels like the Mandalorian is intersecting with a hell of a lot of other story lines and future shows. We've had what seems to be a setup for
    - Boba Fett the Series
    - Bo Katan the serie
    - An Empire post rebellion series
    - Asoka Tano the series.

Disney could be onto a right winner of they start producing even half the potential shoes. They could turn this into something bigger and more complex than the MCU

It's getting to the stage now where I genuinely think the cameos are purely to set up spin off shows. There all one off encounters so far except Fett who is literally just tagged on to the end of an episode

Edit: I think there's potential for the show to suffer because of Star Wars need to link absolutely everything together

Am I the only one who thinks they are setting up a possible appearance by Luke in season 3 . By seasons end Mando will have gotten Grogo to the planet Ashoka mentioned, Grogo will reach out through the force and we'll cut to Sebastian Stans Luke opening his eyes * cue credits*

It just felt like Ashokas " there aren't many Jedi left" was tailored to make us think of the only other Jedi we know is alive at this point. Granted they've left things vague enough that if its someother random jedi its not contradicting anything .

I feel like that would be saved for an Ashoka series, there's so much history. Couldn't do it justice in one episode.

The end of the first episode of season 2. It was literally one shot. A few different things I've read confirm it's him but I read it in the linked article below first

Great episode! I totally guessed wrong about who
Ashoka was looking for. When she kept saying master, I was full sure it was gonna be Maul! Thrawn makes way more sense following Rebels obviously though.

    Newer models (KotOR was HK-47)

That said, 40 upgrades in 3000+ years seems unrealistic given we have a new iPhone every year :D

Feels like the Galaxy is about to become a bigger place in this show! Real clone wars / rebels feel to
that use of the force Grogu did on top of the mountain.

Only started watching this in the last week, today's episode was my first that I had to wait to drop.
Totally confused by the facial recognition test. Was it just to prove someone had a face? How would his face have been on record?

It was just to prove he had a face, probably either to have a facial log of the people accessing the system or to prevent droids from using it.

I'd say that Pedro Pascal was in negotiations about taking the helmet off at some point. As an actor, having your face covered isn't the best for the old career.

    Ah, yeah...
like the one scene from Series one. Possibly contracted for at least one scene per series. Thought it was poorly executed this time though.

It's also the reason why Mrs. Starbuck was in the show a few weeks ago with her helmet off. She mentioned something about it being allowed with her faction. So, in S3 or S4 Mando will be able to remove his helmet more often too as he changes his credo.

    Yes, agreed.
That was shock enough. Kinda makes our eponymous hero's sect look like pointless zealots.

I think that predates the show, the
two factions were set out that way

" As revealed in season 2, Mando's current clan are a more fanatical splinter cell away from the core tenets of the Mandalore race. Other Mandalorians, such as Bo-Katan, take off their helmet whenever they please."

Also, great episode bar that little bit at the end which is f@ckin stupid.

Yep, could have done that much better. Was really crap acting all of a sudden that you'd be disappointed with if you saw it in a nursery school play. The plot point was fine, but the way they did it was awful.

I think that was supposed to be a throwback to what Gideon said at the end of Season 1 (start of final episode I think, or end of second last) - it was probably intended to come off as sarcastic, using someones words against them.

Ok. Stop what you are doing this morning and watch it. It will be very hard to avoid the spoiler the longer the day goes on. It is likely to be on the entertainment section of most news websites.

    Great final 10 minutes.

I totally forgot there was one more mandalorian episode. Binge watched the first and second season last weekend. Why did it take me so long to watch it. Great show.

That was some finale. Watched it with the kids and when I saw the
    “x-wing”
arrive it wasn’t until they said “only one
    X wing
and I knew it was a
    Jedi
    . When I saw the
    green lighsabre
I was like “noooooo way, they wouldn’t .....”

One of my favourite shows and probably my most favorite Disney SWs stuff alongside rogue One.

    I must add that Mando
taking his helmut off to say goodbye was up there with some of the more powerful SWs moments .

It’s been great watching Mandos story unfold but honestly don’t know what
season 3 will be like without
    Grogu

I'm thinking they may continue with Grogu and Mando's stories separately. Can't really see Disney just putting Grogu on the shelf because of the merchandise pull bit maybe that's just me being cynical.

but saying goodbye to Grogu like that..

so I'll go with Rogue One instead..

Overall I loved season 2. The best star wars has been since 1983. Probably could have done without the digital jedi at the end. It slightly took me out of what was happening, but just a minor complaint.

And I did not get emotional at the very end, YOU DID!
