Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Said I'd start a new thread as the one that popped up was 3 years old.

Looking at getting back into the gym as it's badly needed. Due to where I'm living out the country The Body Building and Planet Health seen to be my best options unless someone knows somewhere else decent? Have looked at FIT 100 but they would be out of my price range. Been a long tine since I was in a gym and things have changed a lot, used to be all cardio machines with a small weights section when I was last in one, so will probably need a bit of help to get going again meaning nice helpful staff would be great.

Hoping to go from around 8pm also, are the gyms generally quieter or busier then?

I am going to Planet Health for the last two years and happy to recommend it. It's quiet after 8 pm or 7 AM.
They have renovated during the lockdown and have more free weights now on their first floor.

P.S. Was it my post that you found 3 years old? :D

I recently join Base Camp gym in the city centre and would have no trouble recommending it.

Ive been a member in Go Gym, the old JJB (not sure what its called now) as well as a few hotel gyms. Base Camp is small, quiet and has a nice community feel to it. Its primarily a weights gym with limited cardio equipment although they do run cardio based classes (circuits etc)

Might be worth a look if you're working in the city or don't mind travelling

    Cheers for the replies lads.

Peak Health look like they offer a great service but their price would be outside my bracket, similar to Fit 100. Certainly two places I might consider down the line though.

I work in town and had considered Base Camp fitness but they seem to close by 9pm which would be cutting it tight for myself.

Planet Health looking like a good option and ticks a lot of boxes. 10pm closing gives good flexibility in the evening.

If that is the one in the strand, it's grand, very small, no proper squat rack(as in no safety rails to catch the bar etc)

No, that’s energize. Energie is the one on Sr. Seamus O Cinnéide between the Absolute Hotel and St. Mary’s Credit Union.

From what I know it’s a great little gym but I’m not a member.
