Hi,

Questions and recommendations please for a simple calving shed system.

Can anyone recommend a cellular CCTV camera?

Ideally a two camera system (is this possible or would two two separate cellular cards be needed) to cover blind spots in shed.

Mains powered with simple plug and play. Battery run would be ok too aslong as it will last a week between charges.

Doesn’t have to be 4k or anything like that. Preference for lower video quality so to keep data use down. Are these only using data when you connect to view them or are they transmitting the whole time?’

Will any phone provider simcard work? Or who is best?

Just to be clear I mean 4g cctv. Cellular sounds a bit fancy!

These do kits if you want to contact them.
To get remote access they will supply you with a 4g router.

I just happened to be looking at German amazon . Is this a better version at what you were looking at ?

Thanks. I keep forgetting to look at Amazon Europe. Will make return easier also if needed.

I bought the cheaper version. 218 delivered. Having pan and tilt didn’t help me and just seems like something else to go wrong.

Have a SIM card from 48 ordered. 8 quid a month.

Will set up and report back.

My Reolink 4g camera arrived from Germany. 220 euro or so.

Hardest part of set up was taking the pin off the 48 simcard as my phone and my wife’s phone were both network locked. 48 give a 1gb 7 day trial so ideal as allowed me to make sure the signal strength is ok before signing up for a monthly fee.

Once pin was unlocked camera was set up in 2 minutes. Only tested it inside yet. But picture is excellent. Night vision looks good.

Very pleased so far. The fact that it has no wires is a blessing. Makes it very mobile. I plan on setting up a couple of locations in a couple of sheds and moving accordingly depending on cow calving or keeping an eye on heat detection etc.

Definatly a good DIY option if you can get away with a single camera and don’t mind paying a monthly fee.

Good job.So quick question how did you sort out the pin side of it ?taking the pin off the 48 sim?

Found an unlocked phone that hadn’t been used in a while. Once the phone is on you can go into security on the phone and turn off PIN number request.
