9 Radio on DAB, in Wexford?

After a powercut last night when I turned on my little DAB/FM radio in my kitchen it defaulted to digital from FM and after a scan up popped 9 Radio, which I understand is in Dublin and online only.

Trouble is there's no DAB in Wexford to the best of my knowledge.

Anyone able to help with an explanation?

According to the FreeDAB Facebook page they are live in the South East since the 28th of June.

9 Radio is one of the stations carried on their MUX, there was another post with all the info I saw a while back but looks like they removed it.

Yeah saw that but also saw they were raided back in February and all their gear including antennae was seized. 9 Radio is the only station I'm picking up.

you might be picking up the mux from waterford, unless they have other muxes across the southeast now or have turned up the power of the waterford one to cover the southeast.
i can't explain why you are only getting 9 radio though.

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

The Waterford mux itself no longer exists. It’s the SE one he’s picking up. The other day when I picked it up it was carrying The 90s Network, OpenTempoFM, Zenith Rock, Cyber Hits / Rock, Storm North East, Wild Country, possibly BKLR and Global Radio Cork. May have been others but I can’t remember

Interesting mixture. Some of them are FM pirates.

    Lost here.

We know the RP picked up 9radio, we established what MUX is was on, then the other stations on the MUX were listed.

Where does it say you were removed?

The reason you couldn't pick up the other stations was because the multiplex wasn't fully set up yet at that time

Wexford town. The TX being off would account for not receiving anything.

Pretty good but suffered from regular short dropouts. Like someone pulling back the fader then opening it again.

Yup, blasting in today, no dropouts now either. My little radio is using just the extendable aerial with a short piece of wire attached (needed for good FM reception).
