Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What's the difference between fichid and fichead?

    According to my book it is "dhá fichead" for forty and "trí fichid" for sixty or "cheithre fichid" for eight respectively.

    And why do dhá, trí and cheithre not lenite fichid/fichead?

    An bhfuil a fhios ag aon duine?

    There are a few words that take the singular form after dhá and a special plural from 3-10
    fiche could be one, i'm not 100%

    e.g.

    ceann (one [thing])
    dhá cheann
    3-6 cinn
    7-10 gcinn

    in standard Irish
    40 = daichead (dhá + fhichead contracted)
    60 = seasca
    80 - ochtó

    You may also here in some dialects
    40 = dhá scór
    60 = trí scór
    80 = ceithre scór
    and
    50 = leathchéad

    I checked my dictionary and it is just as you said, a Chrosáidí.

    "fichead" is the genitive form and "fichid" is the special plural form.

    Go raibh míle agat.
