    Do you mean online?

It's illegal under Medicinal Products (Prescription & Control of Supply) Regulations. If you look carefully, any Irish pharmacy websites only allow you to order things that, legally speaking, are not Medicinal Products.

And if you're talking about ordering from foreign websites, it's illegal for you to import Medicinal Products from another country without the appropriate licenses.

Pharmacies are restricted in the amount of Paracetamol that you can purchase because of the potential for severe liver damage if the recommended dose is exceeded.

This place does 24 paracetomol for 90cent, they have a few locations

    https://www.purepharmacy.ie/

my local pharmacy does 24 for 1euro and have sold me 48 before

In some places you have to ask for the cheapest generic ibuprofens behind the counter, they probably hope people will buy the smaller packs or branded ones out on the shelf.

In a pharmacy, ALL Medicinal Products are required to be stored behind the counter.
(ie: If an Pharmacy Inspector finds a pharmacy with (for example) 12 packs on Nurofen out on the front of shop shelves, the pharmacy will be told to move them and if they don't the Pharmacist can be brought up on Fitness To Practice charges.)

You can only buy ibuprofen in a pharmacy. Any pharmacy only medicines have to be stored behind the counter e.g. 24 packs of paracetamol. You can't buy 24 packs in a supermarket

Which makes the fact that they cannot be on open shelves in the pharmacy a bit stupid, doesn't it? However, it is the law.
