Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As Posy is a Christmas moderator I think it's the law that her motion passes.

    Yep that makes perfect sense.

It's a classic tale of the lower ranks overthrowing those high society types.

I must admit, I thought this would just be a bit of fun but it's turning out more like a psychology experiment :p

    Today's comments
Probably one of the most difficult questions so far. Going to answer now as I will keep changing my mind.
Decisions, Decisions... Lots of good ones that could potentially sheep, so I'm just going to go with my personal favourite and hope for the best...
Noooooooo!!!! Why carols? Do people like the slow and boring ones like Silent Night, a bit more up beat with We Wish You A Merry Christmas or more child friendly Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer?????

    I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. :(

Can I choose the answer that SHEEPs pretty please? :p
    Saaaaake.

I had one in my head then I went and googled. WHY!!!!?
Oh no. This is gonna be another sh1t show. I'm so freakin conflicted here. What even constitutes a Carol? Does it have to be religious in nature? Wikipedia says "A Christmas carol is a carol whose lyrics are on the theme of Christmas, and which is traditionally sung on Christmas itself or during the surrounding holiday season. Christmas carols may be regarded as a subset of the broader category of Christmas music."
But....Wikipedia also defines a carol as: "A carol, in modern English, is a festive song, generally religious but not necessarily connected with church worship, and often with a dance or a popular character."

Ok Jingle Bells was my initial thought. And Wikipedia does say that this is one of the Christmas carols so I'm going with that. And damn you all to hell if it doesn't sheep!

I've maybe overthought this a wee bit. :o

Just going by those I deeply regret going with my first thought!

I don't think of Jingle Bells as a carol. It did cross my mind, but I ended up going for the more carolly Silent Night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 71,799 ✭✭✭✭Ted_YNWA

I googled christmas carols & O Holy Night was the first one there.

    Last time I ask Google.

Yeah, I’d never consider it to be a carol either. I was surprised to see it get any votes at all.

Pleasantly surprised at the big sheep here; I was thinking after I should have gone for O'Holy Night. Can't believe some of the low scores here, and those that nobody went for (Ding Dong Merrily On High, Hark the Herald Angels Sing Once In Royal David's City....We Wish You a Merry Christmas ffs!!)

Glad Silent Night did well though, it's a lovely tune in any language (whoever said it was slow and boring can go do one. )

It was years before I realised the font of Celebrations is all (or some?) of the fonts on the different sweets inside! I thought it was a fun mix of colours and fonts to represent the fun mix of sweets :pac::D
