I'm half guessing you picked up the price & probably info from the web but in case you didn't, link.

    Looks rather nice.

Feckin €300 euros on aldi-stores.co.uk/IE.....€267 euro in the UK :(

    http://www.aldi-stores.co.uk/IE/specials_01_11/1.html

Is it a good buy for 300 quid?

I know nothing about the technologies of digital cameras but I know for 300 yoyo's you can get something of far better quality then this traveller.

It migh have 5 MP but thats not much use unless your printing poster size or are an enthusiast in which case you wouldn't be buying this.

Can anyone find any good reviews on this? Or on Traveller in general

Thanks for that, didn't know about the PPI to DPI conversion.

I thought GavinKeller might be a 12 year old who likes to thrash out abuse at people on message boards and such, you know the type, but no ......

Anyway here's a review of the camera currently out in Aldi according to this german thread.

Links might take a min to open as they are being translated.

Here are the specs of the camera.

And here is another thread from the same message board.

Boards.ie can be such a cruel place sometimes ;)

Well you're kinda right but if all you are printing is 6x4 then you don't need better than a 2mp camera. But if you need any enlargements, or prints bigger than that, then you need more MP's.

Heres some other handy links. Didn't about know about the PPI to DPI either, but then I usually use DPI/Size when I'm working with photos anyway.

Dear oh dear the grammer on boards is certainly getting shoddy. Is there really an apostrophe in cameras ??

wouldn't touch it for €300 even with the 128mb card, you can get a Kodak DX4530 at amazon for £151.89, (€225.36) 128MB SD cards are €37.51 from Komplett.

Thats a total of €262.87 before delivery for a better camera.

What determines the quality of any camera is its lense and also on digital cameras the CDD. In my experience these cheaper no name cameras often do not have a high quality lense or CCD. So regardless of the Mega Pixels the image quality is inferior to a well known make with a lower Mega Pixel. Of course maybe some of them do so you'd have to try before you buy or read a review.

Look out for optical zoom too lads, since digital zoom is not a real zoom lens, and degrades quality. Optical zoom is your real, traditional lens zoom, rather than this digital trickery!

I think I'll save up a few quid more and get something like this Fuji Finepix S5000 It has 10x optical zoom  :)
You get what you pay for I suppose.
