Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Small iron object found

I found the object in the photos below in the garden digging. It was about 50cm underground. Heavy for it's size (about 6/7cm long)
It was in a place where I was told there was a cottage many years ago - a coin was found there in the 1980's from about 200 years ago or so.

Hard to say what it is, can anyone suggest how I should to about cleaning it?

    that is a nail.

I don't think it's a nail, the overall shape might make you think so but the curve looks intentional and the shape is flat. If I could clean it without causing damage to it I'd have a better idea.

My guess is that it's half of a handle from a drawer.
