Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Dublin Rapid Championships 2019

    Going to try out a new time control (for Ireland at least - I think) for this event to see if I can lure some new players to the shortened format (given we only have a small window to run these on a Sunday evening post junior coaching).

    It will run on Sunday, February 10th in the Talbot Hotel. Time Control: 10 minutes + 5 second increment. Prize fund: €500. Details & online entry here:

    The qualifying winner will take home the title of Dublin Rapid Champion. Entry fees: 15 euro waged, 10 euro unwaged.

    Registration 5.30pm. Round 1: 6pm, finishing before 10pm. 7 round FIDE rated Rapid. Free parking in the hotel.

    Expect some other formats before summer - team blitz event again, some more individual blitz (/rapid if this proves popular) events, maybe a rapid team event...
