Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thought he was a bit lucky to get a gift of a chance like that in the end, selby basically stuck the whole game up. But on the whole, jack did play some great snooker and still had to pot them. Judd is an interesting match up given their friendship, haven't liked playing each other in the past though that might have changed by now.

Yeah even though he took them well, all the balls were there for him, nothing safe. Still have my doubts about him, cos he really seemed to be wilting before Selby’s miss.

    Tomorrow should be entertaining.

It was all about one shot for me really. Pots that blue in F8 and he wins 6-2 no fuss and a scoreline that reflected the dominance of his play. Instead tried to be clever and inflicted a whole barrage of unnecessary pain on himself that was close to ending in disaster. So jury still out for me. Not sure i could fancy him tomorrow, but a good disciplined show and keeping it tight would be encouraging. He's fallen short in finals before but can at least hope for an entertaining contest.

Should be a good open final tomorrow. Was trump in practising during the semi there? He's very dedicated these days

    Outstanding cut to middle!

    Final a bit one-sided unfortunately...

Neck and neck with Steve Collins and Razor Ruddock in the fishing comp here :pac:

And Steve wins with 7 fish weighing in at 118lb 11ozs to Ruddock's 6 fishies coming in at 114lbs 14ozs.. :D

A round apiece , with the most valuable fish rated by a restaurant owner to win :)

Roll on the punditry - was hoping it'd be kicking off at 6. Must be 7 :(

And Steve, and his fishin partner Dean take round three to defeat Razor and Ali :p

    Snooker up next :):)

That was a bit like the last frame in the jack-selby match last night, very similar position the way he left the table, odds on judd would clear up. Could be quick kill tonight.

This match needs Lisowski to win the next 2 frames.

Jack looking more confident now. Trump isn't running away with this just yet.

Good stuff past couple of frames, feel of too little too late once pressure is off, but you never know at the same time...

He's making it interesting at least, fair play for that. Was sure he'd missed that pink, used to be balls usually stayed out if you even brushed the near jaw.

    Good final now

Hats off to him. Thought 10-4 was a lot more likely than 7-7. Big chance of he can get level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

Genius. No other word will do.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,193 ✭✭✭waynescales1

Disappointing, wanted 7-7. Poor shot on the yellow by Lisowski, too much follow through, cost him the frame. Momentum gone.

Judd was under the cosh there, probably wondering why he hadn't taken that black on, and then comes out and produces that unbelievable red and the canon straight after it. Hard to beat that kind of quality.

Poor Ronnie hasn't a chance of winning sports personality of the year with all the snooker fans watching this match!

    Awful shot from Lisowski there.

Better match than anticipated in the end but the slow start cost him dearly. "Won" tonight's session 5-4 so can take a bit of heart from that, played very well, but with jack it sometimes feels like we're watching the longest running apprenticeship in sport. Still awaiting that elusive first title and 30 fast approaching!

Congratulations to Trump. The wait goes on for Jack to win a tournament but he should take some positives from his performance tonight.

Rob Walker is unbearable. Needs to tone it down more than a little.

He wasn't all that far off tonight in fairness, had judd probably thinking a little bit on one or two occasions. Judd hit him with 3 excellent counter clearances that session alone which was ultimately the difference. But jack has a steady pattern of those kind of slow starts in important matches so has to get that out of his system if he hopes to kick on.

No punters permitted to the Masters in Jan.

No one be happier to hear it confirmed than ronnie, i suspect. Probably had a fair inkling of it when he decided to enter despite previous suggestions to the contrary.

Is there a danger that Trump could be burnt out by the time the Worlds comes around? Hendry's argument is when a player is winning they don't get fatigued.

But in his day he would not have had so many tournaments, and a situation like this where there were so many in quick succession.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I think burn out is a risk for all players and given how much judd has played recently, even more in his case. Not sure we can appreciate fully as bystanders the mental demands that go into tour life, recall barry hawkins giving a very enlightening interview during the worlds just gone about how mentally drained he'd felt before lockdown and how he'd appreciated the break.

The point was well made a couple of pages back that there'll be no overseas events so that will help this season. But longer term judd seems a guy who will just play every event because it is what he does and I'm not 100% sure that's right for him. Then again, taking a week off didn't seem to do robbo much good for the grand prix, so it's not a very exact science all told.

You don't have to resort to that. There's plenty of snooker on youtube.

Ronnie has lost the opening frame in 18/25 matches this season. That's pretty atrocious going.
