Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am unable to book an appointment for the Public Services Card at the my local welfare office due to COVID-19

Has anyone a number to contact or how will it be processed?

    Thanks

You won’t be able to apply for a PSC at the moment. Keep an eye here:

When do you envisage PSC applications reopening? Do you think a matter of weeks or months?

Can't see why there's a problem processing face to face applications. I did it several years go in Dun Laoghaire, it was in a small office (might have been two of them set aside for the purpose) and the official was all the time behind a screen.

No way to do social distancing in the SW offices. You can’t ask people to queue outside.

But PSC applications are done by appointment, you get a time slot and you show up - there is no queuing. They leave time at the end of your slot for the official to do the follow-up processing so the next person probably won't even have arrived when you're leaving.

Yes but the SW office is not just used by people who are looking for PSCs. Ours isn’t anyway. There is just one public waiting area for all the enquiries. People are coming in to apply for different payments or make enquiries about payments or pick up application forms or have an interview with a DO or an inspector all day. It’s not manageable.

PSC appointments are opening up again in offices that can provide socially distancing facilties. All PSC is by appointment only and you can make an appointment online or tbrough your local office

Any chance you might be able to send me a link of where to apply online? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Well, in theory, it should be ....... here - https://psc.gov.ie see the BIG YELLOW BOX!

that brings you to here: https://services.mywelfare.ie then scroll down to the BIG ORANGY BOX

that brings you to here: https://services.mywelfare.ie/en/topics/appointments/ then, when you press the "Find OUT MORE" box, you go to here:

https://services.mywelfare.ie/en/topics/appointments/psc-appointment/ and then, at the bottom of the page, you find

    - absolutely nothing!

Looks as though the Social Welfare hamster has fallen asleep at the wheel!
