Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's only a small snippet of the gig on their YouTube channel, which I think is a great idea, we re all getting too use to wanting things for free, and that includes myself, this is for charity afterall, fair play to them for doing it

Blackened and the small bit of THOTRS i heard were really good. Disposable Heroes - not so much IMO.

14 songs seemed a bit light to me though.

I paid for the AWMH stream and it was worth every cent... my first ever PPV concert. It was a great concert and it had some real stand out moments. The 'fan wall' was a brilliant idea too, it was way better than I thought it would be. I hope they do it again!

    He sounds really good here.
I read that he butchered this cover previously...
Think this makes up for any errors!

Gibson's Icon series latest episode is with Kirk Hammett, it's an hour and 20 mins of a pretty in depth interview. Watched most of it last night, and it goes deep into the beginnings of Metallica, back when Kirk was in Exodus, when he first met James & Lars etc. Lots on Cliff in there too. It's up on Youtube currently.

Can't for the live of me get the video to embed. Here's a link

She and her husband Jonny Z had a hand in Metallica's early days. Mainly their label Megaforce Records, which Kill 'Em All & Ride The Lightning were released on.

They also helped out other bands such as Anthrax, Testament & Overkill.

No, Miley is doing her own Tallica covers album

Personally I can't wait to see that album, I just hope Miley does it properly, by which I mean she picks a few obscure tracks alongside the more commercial; to give as much a flavour of Metallica's entire career as opposed to just remaking the Black album.

All that said, I'd imagine Miley Cyrus singing 'Fade to Black' would be incredible.

Interestingly just saw this on Wikipedia!
In October 2020, Miley Cyrus announced that she was planning on recording a Metallica covers album and on January 7, 2021 she announced that she has recorded a cover version of "Nothing Else Matters" that would feature Elton John on piano, drummer Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The song was produced by Andrew Watt.

For the hypothetical garage days 3 I do believe Metallica have jammed riffs from:
    • Death comes ripping
    • London dungeon
    By the misfits

    At one time or another

My original 2 disc of TBA is worth around 80euro now, not that i'd sell it, too many memories

I'd hate to think of the rare records i've got rid of in my younger days, probably biggest mistake i made was in my local record store in the 90's, was buying something and it was a toss up between Maidens 3 disc vinyl of Donington 92 or some other shite, i chose the other shite and now the Maiden set is worth a bomb :(

Have most of that Maiden stuff except for A Real Dead One,X-Factor and Virtual XI. Sorry I didn't get them now but have everything else.

My biggest regret was not paying £100 for a copy of the SoundHouse tapes

On a slightly related note, i'm thinking of setting up a games room and one of the things i'm thinking of doing is putting a few things on the wall such as old gig tickets, gig t-shirts etc. Anyone do anything similar or have any suggestions that wouldn't cost the world (although i have no problem spending a decent amount on the right items)

Was thinking those vinyl disks would look pretty good but would probably be madness!

Slane poster from 2019 is pretty cool visually. A slightly iconic show too in that it was first up on their list of live gigs on YouTube during lockdown and was their highest grossing and attended show of 2019. And Whiskey was their most watched video of 2019.

eBay your only hope now, there was two different posters, one at the merch stands and one with the VIP package.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,010 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

They often have different posters from different artists pop up on their store. I have a few of them that I got framed and put up in the games room because apparently they aren't suitable for the living room

I’m sure they can be found but there are hi res versions around the internet which could easily be turned into a framed poster by a print shop

You shouldn't 23.25 dollars delivered which would be under 20Euro. only downside is address pal is around 16Euro.
