Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I go out in the early morning while its still dark to fill the feeders and out of the dark comes this small Goldfinch, he flies straight to the feeders and is not afraid to come at least six inches away from me, I try to entice him to feed off my hand but so far no good I can almost touch him but I want to gain his trust, either way its beautiful to see him fly to me in the mornings , wonder will he eventually come to my hand I hope so, there are at least 30 Goldfinches feeding for the past year lovely birds and great to see so many in Galway City.

    Not to be the bearer of bad news, but be aware that birds being unusually tame can be a sign of illness. It's worth ensuring you're familiar with the symptoms of trichomoniasis, as it very commonly affects Goldfinches and can spread to other birds too.     Thanks for that info, he does not look like he has it as he moves very fast and I only see him in the mornings also he does not display his feathers in that condition, I will keep a check on him.

    Still coming and going to the feeders, looks to be in great health no ruffled feathers, now if I could only get him to feed off my hand as he nearly does when I see him/her

    I have robin that hops very close and will come within a few inches if I am sitting quietly - no sign of illness just a crumb opportunist! Ditto wagtails!
