Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thanks Roberto_gas great deal.

I was about to order ink to prepare for remote schooling for my kids.
That print ink for 2 sets of colour and b&w delivered would cost 68EUR non HP.
Just bought the printer yesterday for 65 EUR, set up very easily, set up an account and noticed no free 5 month ink. Mostly likely due to reusing an existing old account. A quick call to HP 01 5339860 sorted it out , really helpful.
The reclaim process makes you wait 14 days after purchase price so have set up a reminder.

How does the 5/7 month free ink work.? Do you have to sign up to a plan and they just don't charge for first few months.? Had a quick look last night but didn't finalise registration as I wasn't sure..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,345 ✭✭✭✭jimmycrackcorm

I have an Envy 5000 printer I bought there a year and a half ago for 50 euro with the free HP instant ink for 12 months. It was a bargain. I kept the subscription at €3 per month because I'd end up paying at least that or more for ink otherwise. For normal usage, it's a great value. But if you're going to be printing tones of black-only text pages, it might not be.

You enroll in a plan and it should show the 5 month free option. Like you I had my doubts as I used an existing HP account. So instead I rang that number got through to a very nice and helpful guy, stayed on the line while I enrolled. As expected didn't work and then he added it, I refreshed account and worked.

It's an awful situation where the Canon I bought a few months back is now running out of ink, and it's cheaper for me to buy a new printer than replace the ink!

Will use the code and your referral for the extra 2 months @Roberto_gas.

U can apply a referral code while registration to get a month...u then apply FREEINK during reg only...once u add printer to account it will pick 5 months automatically...select 11.99 plan to get 300 pages free per month

Would you not use 3rd party ink for the Canon?

I know the question was for Blade but will give my perspective.
For me with the old HP I was reordering 3rd party ink and it is still way cheaper and saving lots to ditch my old printer. My old HP was flaky and bulky but worked so it's a shame but I will try and find a home for it.

    Would do.

But knowing me, I'd probably select the wrong one!

Plus, with the cashback and ink trial, I don't think I'd be saving much/anything.

My SiL bought a Canon printer for the kids for Christmas. I set it up, showed how to print from the kids phone. Later she messages with photos of the printouts with gaps and a bluish tone. Asked me about returning it as faulty.
I went through the head cleaning etc. Finally she showed me the printer on video chat whereupon I noticed the lights on for empty ink.

    Not even 24 hours after...

So what if you just keep putting in spent in cartridges? Will they keep sending you more ink?

Replacing my current printers ink would cost €44+ shipping. Or for €6 more I get a new printer, and lots of ink for 7 months. Can't say I've needed my printer much in the last year or so, but a bargain is a bargain

yes..but you will need an active plan to use them...

I got this printer and just signed up using Roberto gas referral link so 6 months free on the highest plan of 24.99 per month, I've only seen that option using chrome.
Are we allowed post referral codes here?

Here is a link to the HP referral thread

I'd imagine they have a unique batch/serial number for each cartridge. I too would be interested how to hack this

I’ve found another cheap hp printer with a 5 month free trial, no cash back deal though. So I need to sign up to a monthly plan then for the free ink? I’m not sure if I have to actually pay for the plan

Only yesterday i was looking at printers, and today i spot this.
I was looking up laser printers yesterday because in my experience with these ink jets if you dont use them the ink cartridge just dries up and needs replacing, but i have not had one in many years. Is this still the case or have they moved on?

Ink is supplied by HP if u r on a plan..so they shud replace it...if u buy your own that risk exists

    Hi All,

I've a older HP Printer that has always seemed to use a reasonable amount of ink over a good space of time.

Its probably 10 plus years old now and starting to give trouble.

I then bought 2 X HP 2630 Printers recently for the kids schoolwork and general use and am shocked that I can't keep ink in either of them.

I'd bought cartridges from Amazon and they each lasted a week.

Just wondering if HP inks are now tiny/poor value since instant ink etc was introduced or if I was just unlucky.

I can't be buying these every week or 10 days anyhow - They'll be put in the Wheelie bin with the other rubbish if so.....

Was this Currys. I’ve a laptop & printer ordered. I hope to God I don’t get caught with import duties.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 121 ✭✭Carodh

I’ve just spoken on the phone with Currys they cannot send out orders as DPD have suspended deliveries from UK at present. Orders have to go to courier and then be returned before they can cancel and refund. I’m after letting rip on the phone. They should be suspending all home deliveries until this is sorted. I now have to wait 7-10 days for my refund.

Yep, was that definitely currys.ie, doublechecked my emails after getting the notifications from DPD. After contacting curries through twitter/fb they requested a bunch of screenshots and said not to pay the customs (not that I was going to) and to wait for an update. To be honest after hassle I had with them buying one of the new xboxes I'm not surprised in the least they weren't prepared for this.
