Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

looks like some sort of way to spell shane in irish.

EDIT - I presume it would be pronounced SHAY-hin

I could be wrong.

Séaghan/Seaghán is a good example of a 'hypercorrection' in Irish, given that the name is borrowing originally from Norman French and thus would never have had a word internal -gh-

You can see that it wasn't the standard form in the 16th/17th century when you look at the Annals of the Four Masters...
