Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VW T25 Mechanic

    Hi, I recently bought a 1988 VW T25 Westfalia Campervan. I’m looking for recommendations on a good mechanic who knows about T25’s. I’m based in Louth but I’m willing to travel for the right mechanic.

    They are a very rudimentary machine, no need for a specialist mechanic but cosy campers would deal with a lot of them. type2irleand.org is the best place for a recommendation.

    Ditto.

    You dont need a specialist, they are simple yokes.

    A good east european mechanic, of which there are loads is probably more
    familiar with these, than our home grown mechanics.

    You go to a specialist, be prepared to pay specialist prices.

    Diesel or petrol?

    I have also just this week invested in a T25 and while I don't need a mechanic I do need someone to treat some bad rust (gutter replacement required), do some electric work and a couple of other bits and pieces. Any recommendations?

    Probably help to let people know what part of the country you are for a recommendation.

    Reactive Welding in Bluebell do any bodywork I've needed. Have yet to find a good auto electrician and end up doing everything myself (slowly).
