Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Coming to the end of the planning process for a 3 bed bungalow in east Mayo but wondering is there a block fee to be paid to the council before approval....

You would have paid the planning fee of 65e for a one off house as you applied.

On a grant of permission, one of the conditions will be a development contribution. This varies council to council and by size of house. Likely to be a few thousand.
It's will need to be paid (or enter into an agreement to pay in installments) when you are sending in the commencement notice.
As a condition of planning it will have to be paid in full to sign off on the house.

Obviously if the planning isn't granted, no development so no development contribution fee
