Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So far Jeff hasn't gotten to orbit. Or anywhere close and that's with lots of govt funding. So there's that.

The bit about the reaching Kármán line is irrelevant unless you are travelling at 27,000 kph

On the other hand without forward velocity you'd actually need to reach an altitude of 35,786Km to enter orbit.

Elon works the SpaceX guys hard but compared to how Amazon treat workers he'd be a saint.

Surprised there is not a thread about this already

Maybe because some of us are old enough to remember the publicity stunt Pan Am pulled soon after Apollo 11 when they opened their reservation systems to take bookings for their first moon flight.

Trump can't come up with a cent for his infrastructure plan because it will have to be paid for by tax increases (which the Republican majority in the Senate will block) or by spending cuts (which the Democrat majority in the House will block) so don't believe a word you hear from VP Pence about the US going back to the moon.
