I expect Laois @4/9 to be gobbled up early this week and come throw in, expect them to be a lot closer to 1/3

Mayo have already moved from 2/5 to 4/11... when drawn first I priced them around 2/7

I think Clare might be worth a small bit of a nibble even though the game is in Mullingar.

Looking at Westmeath's record so far this year, I'm a bit surprised that they are 8/11 favourites.

I'd have it more around the evens mark.

Westmeath have beaten just Offaly (after a replay), Waterford and Limerick in the championship in the last three years and playing at a lower level in the league since 2017.

Clare for 8/11 favourites in my book.

Any thoughts on the U20 football/hurling championships? Who are the strongest teams?

I was tempted to back Laois at 2/1 to beat Kildare last night. Kildare were nothing like the team that won the All Ireland last year.

Anyone info on Donegal? Fermanagh fancy their chances of an upset on Friday night.

Hurling is extremely hard to call to be honest, there is very little to seperate the top 4 teams imo, that said if you are looking for value Galway look overpriced at 11/2, Tipp are far too short at 5/2 to be honest and will struggle to beat Cork in Munster, assuming the two get to the final. Galway play KK in the Leinster semi next week so you will know your faith pretty soon.

Offaly will fancy their chances this year. Great win for them the other night against Dublin.

I'm taking a chance on Fermanagh this evening @ 8/1 with PP. Fermanagh with a fair share of seniors and Hogan Cup winners and Donegal missing the likes of Oisin Gallen.

    Cos i'm a Mayo supporter:P

Actually I'm on Mayo to reach the AIF so I'm doing covering bets each round they reach. Even aside that, on a bad day they could lose to nearly anyone so 5/2 is decent odds on Armagh

Not properly covering, including 'Mayo's opponents to win' in accas along with hopefully more winnable elements

    Mayo 4/9
    Draw 15/2
    Armagh 5/2

Is it just me or do Armagh look tempting at 5/2?

They are not that far off the top teams and Mayo might just be there for the taking today.

    Think 5/2 is about right.

Think Kildare at 5/2 are better value.

A lot of people think Armagh are worth a punt. I see the same on here. I just can't see it.

I also think we will beat Kildare convincely at -3.

Anyone kept up to date with Mayo recently? I havent watched them play since the league. Does anyone that watches them regularly have a breakdown as to why Armagh could beat them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,127 ✭✭✭The real mccoy 91

Think Tyrone and mayo will have it tough but the 2 dogs +2 is a little tight for my liking so chancing 2 singles and double on

    Tyrone by 1-3 11/4
    Mayo by 1-3 11/4

I am a mayo man have being at 90% if there games I don’t see Armagh beating us this evening but or back line is weak when teams run at us also we have lost or captain and a key midfield player inside a few days.on the plus cillian o Connor is on the bench this evening.
Stick it in mayo but it I’ll be very tight at the end

Yes it is- the wait- but, Westmeath, Kilkenny, Tip then Limerick is how it could work out to win it.
8/1 is not value there me thinks.

    Cracking value.
Cork lengthened in price today, cos probably playing KK and not Wexford in the 1/4, but doing so actually improves their chances. Would have serious momentum with a win against KK, then be at the same stage as Limerick.
This time last year Limerick were 8-1.

Cork will have Limerick in a semi final if they can get past kk so it's hard give them any hope there.

I guess it depends on what you think the odds will be on all Corks 4 games to win it, to see if 8/1 is value or not.

1/100 I guess v Westmeath so won't bother counting that.
    Even money v KK?
At least 6/4 v Limerick and possibly more.
If they get through that, they will surely be favs for AI and could be as short as 1/2 depending on who comes through the other side.

They sure are and I wouldn't rule out Tipp either who seem to have a potentially easier side of the draw now.

11/4 is a poor enough price on them. They would be near enough 2/1 in a final alone if they got there and it was Limerick against them on the other side.

    Don't get that logic.
Drew with them twice in the championship last year. No bench was Cork's downfall, that is rectified this year.
Cork have beat them twice this year, in Limerick.
Cork are the only team left who can beat Limerick, it would be 50/50 I think.

    To qualify,
    1/500 v Westmeath.
Should be 4-9 v KK, but will be 4-5.
Should be evens v Lim, but will be 5-4.
    4-6 the Final.
4-5, 5-4, 4-6 gives less than 6-1, so 8-1 is def value esp when u look at the 'should be' prices.
    All just my opinion tho!
Gambling is all about opinions, one man's food is another man's poison.
