Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi All!

    Can someone please help me decipher the following prescription notation?

    Right Eye: Plano /-0.50 X5
    Left Eye: -0.25 /-1.25 X2

    I want to buy some glasses online and the prescription I have seems to be different from the format needed of Sphere, Cylinder, Axis.

    Any info will be much appreciated.

    Hi folks, just enquiring if I purchase glasses online from the UK or further afield, ie USA, are custom duties, tariffs etc added on.

    From the UK or anywhere in the EU, no.

    From further afield, anything over I think @€;26 is technically liable for VAT and duty.
    In practice it's very much a crapshoot.

    I purchase from selectspecs fairly regularly and they most often ship from China, I have never been caught for taxes on those deliveries.
    I do believe however that the E-Packet shipping used has a tax clearance arrangement built in.
    Other vendors may have different arrangements.
