Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Found this lad outside house last night, big guy bout inch to inch and half long.

(image link doesn't seem to be working so here is direct link http://postimg.org/image/mis3y2lw1/)

Initially thought it was cockroach, but didn't think they got that big in Ireland. Looking later at the pic, his black shell makes me think beetle. Also he was ponderous enough walking around, I have this image in my head of cockroaches scurrying around a lot faster.

Have you ponds or other water sources near you?
It looks very water beetle-ish to me.

Any other pics with more detail?
Have a scroll through this page, might help you with id.

Willow Beetle? (If found near trees)

Common cockroaches (specifically the ones people don't like) are flatter and move like lightning.
