Anyone with a good reputation who has a RB with no obvious oil leaks and a compression test.
Its not too hard to find these in oz.

If a crashed r33GTST comes up in salvage auctions ill consider that also.

Not sure about it, prefer the grill but it looks odd with the Nissan badge, could try a Silvia badge.

As for badging a 200sx as a Silvia, couldn't care less...

    Parts collection continues.

Time to wire the ECU into the sr20 and learn how to map the car while collecting the final parts for the engine swap.

This gives me a couple of months to learn on an engine I plan to replace.

KS-4 knock analyser/ knock alarm. So I don't blow my engine up while I get stuck in.

    Bad news time:

I need to park the rb25 swap for a while as I found out I have a visa to sort out by Feb so finances need to be diverted.

So looking like I need to leave the car on the motor it has for a few months.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,691 ✭✭✭JimmyCrackCorn

    Not much news.

    Serviced the car.
Had boost leaks again, joys of turbo car ownership.

Huge T-Bolt clamps, wont leak now.

    IMG_20150406_143044.jpg

ECU back from repair from Haltech so should get a chance to start wiring again.

Also fixed the speakers in the car so I now have a fully working set wired properly.

RB swap still on hold, but i signed up for a welding course to keep myself happy.

E-Bay. Lots of ozzy companies list stock. About 4-5 euro each but I know it wont leak again soon. (i'm sure they were made in China so aliexpress if you can wait a month for shipping)

Should have done it when I bought the car and they would have paid for themselves in petrol a few times over :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,691 ✭✭✭JimmyCrackCorn

Yep been on SXOC since I had my first S14 a lonnnngggggggg time ago.

    Update time:

So I have been continuing to collect bits and getting close but still have some way to go.

    Birthday present:

    Maintenance:
    Leaking banjo is a pain
    IMG_20150423_150048.jpg

So as it is a modified car nothing is done right.
In order to stop the battery relocation to the boot burning the car to the ground i rang an auto electrician to fit a breaker as i don't want industrial crimping tools.

    20150702_154143.jpg

I didnt have a spare key so now I have a consolt usb adapter to code keys and diagnose problems.

    20150630_101743.jpg

Swapped the fuel pump, nervous about that job.
Had an aftermarket pump but was crimped badly, had been putting this off for a while as I didn't want to set myself on fire.

The high flow pump then caused the fuel lines in the engine bay to piss fuel so they got replaced on a Monday morning.

    20150620_140224.jpg

I learned to Mig and stick weld in an evening course. Something I needed to learn. Need a bit more practice.

My birthday present to myself Defi Din Gauges. Wont be fitted till RB

    720108967_12941.jpg

    Other:
Conversion wiring harness ordered. For RB25 NEO.
    No going back now.

AN10 Braided Hoses and fittings ordered for oil cooler and catch can hose looks like its about to melt so, swap before fire. Will look better two.

Braided Brake lines ordered and R33 braided clutch lines for conversion.

Rocker cover gasket for Sr20 is leaking so that is on order two.

On the hunt for a R34 flywheel next, but that's my parts budget spent for this month.

    Car is driving spotlessly now.

    Left on the list:
    1. 10 Amp relay for Fans
    2. Slim pusher fans
    3. Engine
    4. Gearbox
    5. ECU
    6. Flywheel and Bolts
    7. Alarm/immobilizer for after the swap.
    8. R33 cross-member
    9. Pedal box clutch master Cylinder

Getting close, but in no hurry.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,691 ✭✭✭JimmyCrackCorn

    Rocker cover gasket was leaking.

Head shows signs of not enough oil changes.

    GTX3076R

Compressor maps look good but a bit of an unknown in terms of finding Dyno results on it.

The plan is to order a twin scroll divided T3 .78

Pulled the car apart to do the manifold gasket.

Went great until I tried to refit the oil feed for the turbo.

Threads gone have orded a time cert and a set of flexy lines.

Car is off the road for a week.

Suppose I'm getting what I asked for when I wanted to learn. I spend more time fixing than modding.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,691 ✭✭✭JimmyCrackCorn

Job done over a three day weekend.

    7 layer updated Manifold gasket.
Copper Gasket used on the gaskets
Silicone gasket maker used on the cold side turbo gaskets.

Had to cut a nut off (pun intended)

Threaded insert in block using the re-tap time-sert kit.
Used axle grease and heavy duty magnet to pull as much swaf out as possible.

Dump pipe gasket is leaking but that's a quick fix tonight when I have light.

No leaks, oil changed as well, so should be good for a couple of months before the motor comes out.
