Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Calculating property tax

    Hi guys,

Need some info on property tax, recently bought a new house (well October 2019 to be precise).

We are obviously liable for property tax for this year, but want to know how they came to their valuation.

On the valuation map on revenue site (https://lpt.revenue.ie/lpt-web/valuation-guide/index.htm), we seem to fall under band 2 (based on type of house, location and year of build). We are however being charged the band 3 rate.

Is this correct? They say its a self assessment, but we never actually made this assessment.

    How is this judged?

Can someone also tell me when payment is due? I know upon purchase the solicitor would have accounted for our portion at some stage, but for what period would this have been? apologies its very confusing
