Yesterday I spent 12 hours traveling with an hour to play a game of ice hockey.

Would you do this for a sport you love?

He didn’t have to pay on the bus either.

Stretching after that travel would be an issue.

I've spent 12 hours travelling across the country to watch someone else play sport if that counts.

I've spent days sailing a boat around Ireland or to other countries to do a few hours racing, then another couple of days to bring it back home again.

I once heard of a guy from Cork who traveled half way around the world to not play a match.

I think it was in the newspapers.

It doesn't take 12 hours to fly to Canada.

Stay local if you're moaning. National or overseas competitions can require travel.

Actually the league is only on in belfast. Five teams from Ireland travel from the Ireland to play.

In one of my horse books there was a story of a jockey who travelled from England to Berlin (?) about 150 years ago to rise a horse, using boats, trains. It took days. When he got there the owner decided to use another jockey.

Well you can watch the Champions League without getting off the island, in all fairness (or at least could have before they got eliminated...)
