Well Peter Moody thinks so

Zaaki, a 6 year old gelding ran over 20 times for Sir Michael Stoute in the UK, winning two Group 3s and a Listed race. Goes down to Australia and wins a gr. 1 by 7 lengths. Peter Moody says don't dismiss the opposition that it is the quality of trainers in Australia getting the best out of these European cast offs

Embarrassing.

You need only look at the Melbourne Cup to get an idea of just how uncompetitive Australian racing is. British/Irish trained horses who are nothing special at home competing in it out of season and often hoovering up the places.

Moody the mouth.... After all his BS it transpires that Zaaki ran to 117rpr in his 7L demolition of a horse that has been well exposed as a 100rpr horse. Zaaki ran to 117 RPR for Michael Stoute when winning a listed race at Ascot, ergo a stupendously impressive G1 winner in Australia is the equal of a decent Listed winner in Europe.

Australian racing brings to mind Cobalt and a pattern system that hands out G1 honours like snuff at a wake.

Moody posed the question as to whether, unwittingly, fillies and mares on altrenogest have been getting an unfair advantage.

"Is this one of the reasons why fillies and mares have dominated the last couple of decades," Moody asked?

"We have always blamed the fact that our smart young colts have gone off to stud and better performed horses have been sold to Hong Kong for big money.

"But maybe this anabolic make up of Regu-Mate, maybe it has given the girls some benefit? I don't know."

Victorian trainers have been urged to stop using products that contain the substance altrenogest with testing continuing to show varying levels of the anabolic steroids trenbolone and trendione, which are substances that are banned under the Australian Rules of Racing.

Racing NSW took a different approach to Racing Victoria, enacting a NSW local rule of racing 44A which provides stewards the discretion to dismiss ‘nonconsequential’ levels of trenbolone or trendione.

Moody told Racing.com that he used Regu-Mate with the fillies and mares in his care.

"Regu-Mate has been a widely used product for many years now and trainers have used it as a tool to help control the cycle of fillies and mares," Moody said.

"I would suggest that it has benefitted them greatly.

"There have been jurisdictions around the work, mainly Europe, where it is banned, I went through that with Black Caviar and she basically lived on it.

"When we went to the UK, she had to go off it."

My view is that they are better at maximising ability of sprinters but we'd be superior at middle to extreme distance, but that's just based off limited exposure to the clashes we'd see e.g their sprinters at Ascot and our runners in the cup. But his comment is embarrassing, to completely dismiss ability of others who have been dominating their holy grail for the past few years just shows ridiculous the statement is
