Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am looking at a job at third level its a Pro Rata position (Engagement Officer). Salary Scale is €38,545 - €56,204 p.a. What determines the level if you are transferring from a different role (secondary school teacher in my case).

I am currently teaching on point 15 which is €55,675.00 but with allowances I am hitting €6,0000. Would this mean I should be at the top end or is there a fixed system.

I looked into this for a civil service job and I was right back down the bottom. If you read their T&Cs there might be something about applying for credit. In my case being a teacher didn’t count.

This might possibly help for ammunition.

I’ve taken on a number of persons into admin roles in third level and in some cases taken them in at the top of the relevant pay scale. It depends on the organisations policy, but in my uni I can complete a salary exemption form and if I can show that a successful applicant was on equivalent or more money in the private sector and I have the budget to cover the higher salary I can bring them in up the pay scale.
