Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I have applied for Disability.

How hard is it to get it.And is there a long waiting list.

I have no idea what the waiting time is since COVID but it has certainly historically been a long waiting period (12+ including appeal - most cases are turned down initially and have to be appealed).

You can apply for Supplementary Welfare Allowance in the meantime if you satisfy the conditions.

You have to have a condition that is likely to affect your ability to work for longer than one year. Definitely include as much medical evidence as possible and a letter from yourself outling how your disability affects you daily.

    Best of luck!

The appeal should include additional information so speak to your doctors about anything that they may have left out or if there has been any further deterioration in your illness. The appeal basically has to have NEW information that the first application didn't have.

Medical diagnosis and evidence is key here ,
And how your much your condition effects you on a daily basis ,
Unfortunately DA isn't a simple case of form filling and hoping for the best
