Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's a good time to arrive? I can't speak for brother's Jewell and Murphy, but I'm happy enough to arrive early and help set up the room etc.

We usually have it in the Anno Santo cause 1) that's where we normally have it, 2) the good folk there know us and what to expect from us (they're pretty much family :p) and 3) it was really close to where I lived and I helped organise the first one :D

It's been in NUIG a few times when P00k was in college there and in the Comp Soc

I've spoken with the owner back in January.

Would people be interested in a future event in Squareeyes?
Could remove the need to lug rigs around, though BYOPC accomodation was mentioned.

some miscommunication on my behalf. sorted now. I don't work there.

ya thats me mate... at your service ;)

I know there is def capability for a large gathering in there. as to what games? I suppose whatever the popular vote is.

The most fun i've had down there in recent times has been the fugitives mod that they made in house. Fugitives.its a large number pf players that make it so good. basically cat and mouse with automatic weaponery ;) and all made by two of the lads. the same is planned for arma but it has to be tested for reliability first methinks.

if you are looking for any news then make sure ya sign up to the forum. news and events normally get thrown up there ;)

    :(

My PC is still broken and I fear this will mean I can't go to the LAN, but this weekend will be dedicated to it and nothing else. Wish me luck brothers...

I have one more plan which involves pulling out the battery and moving the "wipe bios" jumper for a minute and then putting everything back and praying :)

The hardware obviously works cause we had XUbuntu running on it, but after that, I dunno!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,815 ✭✭✭✭po0k

nLiteOS = Windows CD + drivers, service packs etc. rolled together and shat out as a custom widnows install cd.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

looking at that now, seems awfully small for a windows cd... Download's only 4 megs - does it read from your current windows instal or something?

Edit: I think I get it now, I'll put it into the lappy at home and use the XP cd and point it at that and make with the magic yes?

No joy, nothing doing, heart broken I am. :(

I just can't understand it, the hardware appears to be fine as I can run Xubuntu on the machine without any problems, it just will not load or allow me to install Windows :(

What are the symptoms? Where is it going wrong?

If you can give me your system details it would help figure out the problem.

    Huzzah!

As has been mentioned, there will be gaming during the day! everything else can happen at night. This will hopefully cater to both sides of the scales.

only 3 days to go :D

Do more people generally turn up on the night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Doodee

well we have a group of regulars, about 8 - 10 that will turn up when informed but i don't know what they're position is for this LAN.

Sure if you know anyone who might like to come along then invite them.
If I find out about the others then I'll post here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 273 ✭✭electrofelix

Any particular reason that COD4 was removed from the list and changed to COD2?

I've got my fingers crossed that I can get the ClamAV scan sorted over night so that I can present you guys with a 'no windows virus on my linux box' report :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Doodee

no idea, especially since we are currently playing COD4 :D

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Well, that was a savage LAN as always. All the competitions, and the prizes (my €300's going down a treat with the credit card people)! It's a shame there weren't more people there to avail of it. The COD4 was great craic and then the Gun Game stuff was good for the LULZ

Thanks lads for the making it happen, p00k for my lift down and amp for my lift back up ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 273 ✭✭electrofelix

    hear, hear!

As usual GL ticked all the necessary boxes for me.

Some good games, a bit of crack, and getting killed a couple of hundred times :p

Oh, and playing COD4 on linux was the icing on the cake :D
