Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did anyone see the pic of the tornado in Bandon on the back of yesterdays (Thursday 19th) examiner?
Looked really cool, does anyone know if it touched down?

I can't find it online, does anyone have a scan?

Is this kind of thing common here, I remember seeing a waterspout alright a few years back down in Kerry, didn't last very long though.

    Is this El Nino?

They aren't tornado's officially unless they touch down.
Didn't see the photograph but I'll bet there was thunder and obviously compared to the states they are very rare, theres still a few small ones in the UK every year though and perhaps quite a few both here and there that aren't seen or recorded..

We have had a lot of high humidity and very unstable semi tropical air in the last few weeks,It's just a phase,it happens.
It's passed for the time being, here in the shade for instance at 1pm it's now only 17 with humidities in the 70's
    Different air mass=different weather.

Cork is known to have them. With the remnants of Hurricane Charley coming, they think there could be some this weekend.

Funny that yer talkin about a Tornado in Bandon. At the w/e I saw a funnel cloud just a few miles north west of Ballina, County Mayo.
It was like 'Wow'! My two aunties saw it as well so I wasn't seeing things :)

Watched it for a couple of minutes. Didn't touch the ground, then disappeared!
