    The 3rd Cork International Salon of Photography - This Saturday at teh Rochestown Park Hotel - Please read on:

    The 3rd Cork International Salon of Photography has completed judging. You may find details of all award winners and a list of accepted titles over on the salon website (big red button at the end of this page!). Once again, our sincere thanks for your participation.

    We now move onto the next exciting phase of our 3rd salon – the awards ceremony and exhibition. As with previous years, we have planned a big event with a full day of photography presentations, workshops and a trade show plus our exhibition will be running throughout the day. In the evening, we’ll host the presentation of awards followed by a gala dinner.

    This spectacular event takes place on Saturday February 27th at Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork.

    Exhibition

    Our exhibition is free to attend and open to the public throughout the day.

    9am-6pm Exhibition

    Wondering what it takes to have an image accepted in an international photography competition or simply want to be inspired by some great images? Join us as we present the collection of images which were accepted into our exhibition this year from all six sections of our competition; colour, monochrome, nature, creative, photo travel and landscape.

    Trade Show

    Our mini trade show is free to attend and open to the public throughout the day.

    4pm Rick Whitacre

    Rick is an American photographer who has a passion for shooting the stars (the celestial ones!). When we found out that Rick was visiting Ireland at the same time as our event, we knew we had to do whatever it took to bring an astrophotographer of his calibre to our big day!     Workshops

    This year, we are delighted to introduce a number of workshops. Each of these specialised sessions can accommodate a maximum of 10 participants. Each workshop costs €30 and will provide approximately two hours tuition. We are now open for bookings – please see the form toward the end of the page and grab your spot on one of these excellent workshops quickly!

    9am Jason Town & Niamh Whitty - Macro Photography

    Join two of Ireland's leading macro photographers as they explore the wonder of the miniature world with this hands-on macro workshop. Bring your camera and learn the techniques you need to bring your macro photography to the next level!
    10.30am Michael O'Sullivan - Indoor Location Lighting with Model

    Michael, a professional photographer and master of lighting, is a familiar name in Irish photography for his highly creative and evocative imagery. His workshops are much sought after and constantly in demand. Grab your spot now!
    2pm Bill Power - Natural Light Portraiture

    Bill Power may be better known for his recent natural history fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation on fungi, but he's also been cleaning up on the awards front both nationally and internationally over the last few years with beautiful natural light portraits. Will he share some secrets with you?
    Royal Photographic Society

    We are delighted to announce that Walter Benzie, president of the Royal Photographic Society will be joining our day to provide information about the organisation and to talk about RPS photographic distinctions which are held in extremely high esteem worldwide!

    Awards & Dinner

    Join us from 6.15pm for arrival reception followed by the awards ceremony for the 3rd Cork International Salon of Photography. Following this, we’d love to have to stay and join us at our gala dinner to celebrate our third year and to catch up with photography friends from near and far!
