There's a concrete path running around the house. If you wanted a patio area in the back garden outside the kitchen's sliding door would you rip up the path?

You could....
Or you could pave over it if you have room below the threshold of your door and the dpc.

Thanks. I suppose apart from the damp / drainage issues would it look funny to have path, then patio.

Nope that's what we did. We went with a grey outdoor porcelain tile so maybe something that doesn't match concrete as well could clash.

You're going to cover the path arent you? So you wont see it.
