Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For all who asked, I have two photo's I took today - it was difficult to get good photo's in the warehouse, so apologies for the lack of detail. I'm away until Sunday, and I'll need to charge the battery to get the car started. The car was professionally undersealed (it was owned by a director of Fiat UK, and then a director of Fiat Ireland) but the wings are starting to suffer the usual italian rust. I had planned to replace them with the fiberglass versions that are available, but never did anything with it, other than put a new exhaust on it just before it went into storage. Everything electrical and mechanical is fine - at €950 it's well worth the money!

Update - I charged up the battery and it started first time, and it's running well, so anyone interested in having a look, just let me know.

Yeah, an I'm lookin for a rear wheel for a blue van:D;)

Sorry, Onkle but you know I couldn't resist a small dig..
Could you be more specific? Those kind of very general requests rarely bare fruit!
For instance what colour wires exactly do you need? and how thick exactly are they?:P

That's me gone for a week;)

It's the whole lot I'm looking for tbh. The wiring behind the dash in the early MK2 is very simple and anybody that has one will know what I'm talking about :)

So they are all different colour wires and not quite as thick as you :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 495 ✭✭Hifive

This one isn't quite as thick as me, but it's still fairly thick and as an added bonus, it includes lots of pretty coloured wires:D:D
    And a nice flower pot!

I do have one yes but I was thinking I might keep it "just in case" as getting one from the UK would be £££ to ship alone. But I guess at a good price i would let it go.

I have a friend looking for an interesting pre '80 car for under a grand. He's not looking for a resto project so a runner (or **almost** a runner) would be ideal, he'd be up for a small job or two to get it going.

Anyway, he has a shortlist of a mk1 golf, Citroen CX, Alfa Romeo Sprint or Saab 900 so he's fairly open minded.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭shagman

He'll probably get a scimitar for that from the UK they're well undervalued.

    Hi all,

After a year of deliberating I have decided to sell my 1968 Porsche 912.

I bought the car 10 years ago and imported it from Los Angeles, California. it is Left Hand Drive.

It is an original example and is a daily driver. The overall condition is good, but by no means a show winner. The car war last resprayed 5 years ago, the second respray since I have owned it. There is no surface rust, just a few little scratches and marks, but nothing to detract from the overall appearance. The body work is straight and solid. The chassis underneath is also solid. The interior is original and complete and in tidy condition, but again not perfect.

To be honest the car needs some general TLC (Time more than money) to bring it up a standard, and unfortunately I don't have the time.

The engine is the original 1600cc flat 4 aircooled engine with twin carbs, and 4 speed gearbox. The car is registered in Ireland, costs about 160 euro a year to insure with AXA (fully comp) and 48 euro a year vintage road tax.

For those looking for their first classic Porsche to own it is a perfect car for ease of maintenance and cheap running costs.

I am sensible on price as I need to sell, therefore I am looking for offers around 12k. With TLC and some minor restoration these cars in mint condition are fetching upwards of 18-20k so I think I am being reasonable as it reflects the condition.

I live in Dublin city centre, where the car is available for viewing. Please PM me if you have any questions.

can you describe the engine you are looking for?

if it is Velocette then it is an old motorbike engine.

One type would be very expensive, or impossible to get ant the other, water cooled i think ,could be found.

    Hello!

I have a favour to ask.

I need a car from the mid-late 1980's for a film project. It needs to be roadworthy, the kind of thing an average Irish family would have owned in 1987!

We would need it for a few hours on 5th January 2010; for which we can offer a small fee. It's easy money for anyone who has this type of car.

We are filming in the Dublin area, in a housing estate.

    Thanks all.

Please PM me with any replies.
