Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All betting companies have issues with hackers. That's no secret. Hence why I asked about the IP address's multiple times. Then a vague answer came back and Georgia was mentioned....

If this was true, this would be the first point the OP should be leading with in his defence, how could he place the bets if he was based in Ireland and the IP was in Georgia....

The OP has already done what you said, they done investigation and came back saying he/she placed the bets.

So the only option is official complaint which they seem unwilling to do, starting a thread on the BOI thread is pointless, its not like the CISO of BOI is reading boards

Some betting companies have more problems than others.

I've never used that company so have no experience of them. However there are procedures to follow and any company that ignores multiple logins from different countries within a short period of time and then dismissing a fraudulent claim straight off is either complicit or ignoring their own security measures. Eitherway the next stage is escalate the complaint within the company and then find out where they are licensed and escalate it further.

Having seen the multitude of apparent API hacking tools for that website would make me stay away as clearly there are security issues.

90% of the responses in this thread are you lost your money/didn't happen etc. It is entirely possible.

Yes 90% are, as I said I tried to ask questions and at best vague answers. How many times was the IP question asked by myself and other posters before we got Georgia thrown in but no details on the other IP's

Devices, it was asked what he/she used to log in on. Best we got was a response abotu multiple tabs? do they always log in from single device? or multiples?

If the original story is true, you would expect the OP to provide a bit more detail, if the betting company and Bank have carried out a 3 week reveiw these questions would already have been asked.

From the responses I have seen the OP isn't that technical.

There are two points of intrusion. Internal. One is the OP's laptop/phone or whatever device is being used to access the betting site. They need to perform even the most basic malware check on their own system for keyloggers or viri. Malwarebytes is a good starting point. They also need to check their own network is not compromised ? I cannot figure out how desposits were made without a CVV number. The betting company should not be storing this or allowing deposits without it.

Secondly and one that is out of the OP's hands is the external point, ie software with swiss cheese or a compromised site. I see that said betting company are included in a data dump (444,241 records) from December 2019.

    Couple of things.

I'm almost certain this was Casino gaming and not poker - This would've been mentioned by the OP.

If Casino gaming like Blackjack, they should be able to snuff out fairly quickly if the OP's play on the day he went busto emulated his play the other times he played (ie, similar stakes, move patterns etc)

Likewise they can hit the IP of where the play was taking place from (hence how banned account re-reg's always get caught straight away).

    As people have mentioned previously:

It is fairly heavy odds on that OP is panicking now and is looking for some sort of a bailout (which almost certainly won't happen).

What on earth are the gaurds going to do? Don't even bother waste their time.

I'm not talking about what they will do, but what they SHOULD do is:
-block the scamming web site in Ireland (instructing ISPs to block it)
-lodge a complain to domain registrar, requesting the domain owner personal details. If it is a hosting provider, request the hosting provider for the client details.
-track the transactions made via bank card.
-report the domain owner/hosting client to Interpol.

Yes that is not going to happen Na1.

Report to Guards. Report to Bank. Fraudulent transactions.

Then there is a complaints mechanism. Raise the complaint with the company. If not happy then go for internal review. Then go to the licensing authority in Ireland who have allowed them operate here. In this case its the Revenue Commissioners.

Was the gambling done on your account? Can you see the transactions ? Were any other details on your account changed? How big were each of the charges to your card?

Unfortunately from the sound of this it doesn't look great. The bank/website would see other transactions to the same supplier and feel it looks legitimate

One question though...how long ago were the transactions? Under psd2 there is a requirement to verify online transactions (eg text a code to confirm the transaction is legit). If your card provider/website didn't do this then you might have a way to claim back(as they haven't followed the requirements).

But at this stage I'm afraid I'd be writing it off, and anything you get back as a bonus!

And stop gambling..it's a mugs game. Long term the house only wins.
