Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Amiens SC - for the dancing unicorns

Orlando Pirates - i nominated this and i love the look of it,looks like a pirate flag which is not a common look for a football crest

    Kerala blasters what a name
    Brescia

Pescara - I like the colours and the dolphin but somehow it still looks like a proper football crest.

Kyoto Sanga - I like the shape and the colours used.

Pescara for this interpretation of their crest by a young fan, which they turned into their jersey.

Kyoto as its a very nice and clean design.

That's going to be their away strip next season. And it was only meant as a competition to stop kids getting bored during lockdown, it wasn't meant to actually be produced.

Amiens (lovely colouring and shape) and Orlando (who doesn't love the old skull and crossbones!) for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

And that's Group 7 complete with French outfit Amiens going through just behind South Africa's Orlando Pirates, who top the group. Tune back in later on for some more Group Stage bouts.

Orlando Pirates and Amiens SC advance

Had two sentences typed then got distracted with work and forgot all about this. Long story short: Toughest group yet for me, would have been happy for any of them to advance, and very important to remember, Orlando Pirates are not in Orlando, Florida as Omack was kind enough to point out after I nominated it :)

What?!?! Those pirates are a bunch of cowboys.

Bristol Rovers is very very nice, I like it a lot.

Corinthians is a bit less plain than the other two so I'll vote that too

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,336 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Bristol Rovers - just to stick with the recent pirate theme

Lokomotiv Moscow - took me a second to realise that the green bit is a train. Makes sense given it was part of the railway workers sports club

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

Lokomotiv Moscow and Corinthians for me. This isnt a very strong group imo. The Bristol and Quakes ones are a bit bleh tbh. Corinthians is as well, but at least it has some oars in it (i say that as someone who nominated it).

Moscow probably the strongest in the group for me. That sneaky little train in there. Chugging away. Marvelous.

    San Jose Earthquakes (USA)
    Lokomotiv Moscow (RUS)

I'm a Bristol City boy so the gasheads can go fück themselves!

San Jose Earthquakes - i like the black and blue colour combo

You can't say you like one for being blue and black, then pick another blue and black one for being unique :p

It's the pirate that makes it stand out, although i have being playing assassins creed black flag recently so maybe i'm being biased towards the pirates :D

Lads are you sure thats a pirate - he looks a little too well heeled to be a pirate. Id wager he is a navy man myself (without any research done on the topic).

Earthquakes - just a solid crest, good colour scheme and very impactful.

Corinthians - another nice simple crest. If they receive as many votes as they do letters, they should sail through.

It's a 4 way tie as it stands!

They're North Bristol, no-one's well heeled there :pac:

(not actually true, but I used to live south of the river so I'm sticking to it)

Less than 10 minutes remaining and we need a tie breaker still. All four on level pegging!

    Lokomotiv as I like trains

And San Jose as I've been there and the badge is supposed to resemble a fault line or something

    Lokomotiv Moscow for the train
Corinthians for the anchor and the cool flag.

I like the Quakes black and blue colour scheme but rest of logo is a bit too plain.

    That's pretty cool actually :)

Ok well I can reveal that Lokomotive have steamed on ahead as group winners. Bristol City are out, I'm sure Electric Nitwit will be pleased with that. San Jose and Corinthians are joint second. For me, there's a lot more going on with the Brazilian effort without it being too much. The nautical stuff i.e. the oars and anchor on the outside, with the flag on the inside ties it together for me. I vote for Corinthians.

    Lokomotive Moscow and Corinthians advance

Valencia for the bat and Dulwich Hamlets because its pink

    Valencia for the bat
Dulwich Hamlet for the pink colour scheme (was it nominated by Strawbs?)

    Ha ha, great minds... :pac:

Dulwich Hamlet is too Spursy with a pink tinge.

Valencia has a bat... which used to be cool before people started eating them :P

So by default I'm going for the cool horse of Juarez and the T of Portland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

Valencia - i have always liked this, probably because of the bat
FC Juarez - one of the best i have seen so far, good job whoever picked this one

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Can't believe I missed the start of this!

Valencia is iconic; it'll go a long way here

    Love the FC Juarez colours

I'm going to vote for Dulwich, because I'm amused by both the hideous colour scheme and the shape that makes it look like a bottlecap.

Also gonna give the Timbers a vote....because GIANT AXE.

Honestly never noticed the bat on Valencia's crest before, it makes it cooler than i thought it was but still the main body is a bit plain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

    Batlencia is just lovely.

I'll go for Juarez as well, it's not very footbally, but it is a demon horse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,476 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Easy decision for me here, with two of my nominations featured.

Valencia - come on, there’s a bat surrounding the entire crest. No more justification needed.

FC Juarez - this one came to mind straight away when the tournament was announced. The colours, the horse, the little gold star. It all clicks for me.

Valencia - one of my nominations

FC Juarez - really like the red and green color scheme

    15 minutes remaining

Valencia is a well balanced crest. Gets a vote.

Juarez is a bit mental. Some hot sauce for the Valencia paella, so to speak.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,635 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Juarez. I can't say no to a psychedelic stallion - who probably listens to metal too by the looks of it.

Valencia, the bat design is iconic.

    Valenica

    Juarez

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

The Anglosphere are absolutely flattened by the Hispanic boys. A hiding there.

    Valencia and Juarez move on

Jaysus. None of them want my vote.

I guess.....CA as its a ball disguised as the world / the world disguised as a ball.

and....Tavriya because that Griffin has trapped that ball expertly.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

CSKA - a good proper Soviet "**** You" of a crest

I think I'll spoil my second though

    SC Tavriya - it's got a griffin.

Not pushed on the others but I'll vote Pachuca for at least trying somewhat
