Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Attention.

The Le Aoife is moored near the Bridge in Waterford at the moment. It will be open to the public for the weekend.

The anniversary of the first flying of the tri-colour is being commemorated. A 25 year old Thomas Francis Meagher (of the american civil war fame) first flew our very own tri-colour from the top of 33 The Mall, Waterford in 1848. The flag, later adopted as the Irish Flag, was then brought on a tour first to Clonmel and ultimately to Dublin.

This event is being commemorated with events over this weekend and as part of the celebrations the Le Aoife is open to the public.

    That is all.

11.00-13.00: Captain’s Stand Down and Parade for Naval Vessel LE Aoife, The Quay (FREE EVENT)

aoife.jpgThis is the first time that an official Captain's stand down has ever occurred in Waterford. The Captaincy of the L.E. Aoife, which is twinned with Waterford, will be transferred on the day with pomp and ceremony. A great visual spectacle for all the family.
