Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok, I'm a bit bored today and I'm home in front of my laptop. A similar game is played on the Cool vids and pics forum, I don't expect this will last long but it might be a distraction for some of us for a while anyway:o
Post a picture of a place in Limerick, remove any obvious clues and people guess or tell us where it is, then they can take a turn or pass if they wish.
Obviously I'll go first.:p Clues can start after a few guesses

Not sure where that is. Maybe around windmill street? I know this proved popular here before. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056252749

    Not Windmill street
Oops, didn't know there was a similar thread before, still it was a long time ago so hopefully a few more will bite on this.

I'll give a clue later on if it's still not got.

You're right, how could you have cheated? Surely you didn't drive around the whole of Limerick on google earth?

Do you want to put something up or pass it so somebody else can have a go?

The picture has a 2015 stamp on it and the house has a for sale sign on it so I checked the auctioneers website :P

Let someone else have a go. Am on the phone for now so its too much hassle. Will post myself when I'm on the computer later

I was just google mapping around that area! I realised the house with the windows in the roof in the bottom right looked way too familiar. I'm living just two minutes away from there.

Sunville is correct, anybody else want to put one up?

Sorry, my one is not Joseph street.

Snotaul, I don't think I can stop people guessing my one so we'll probably have two on the go, when you said "go on so!" I thought you wanted me to post another.

Yours has the look of Ballinacurra Gardens which has already been guessed.

Where's this eye-catching landmark, then? (bit of a "gimme", really, but it might puzzle a few people...)

Roches mills on the Dock Road??

Right in one! Viewed from behind, while walking the mutt in the old racecourse. Same vantage point as this:

    Is that not Roches feeds?

Also for Ballinacura, the house at the end of the pic was a relatives of mine so thats how I knew it.

Yup, that's what I'd have called it too. Isn't the "mills" the big stone building further down the road, on the left heading towards town?

The man who lived there passed away late last year actually

You're not Denis Allen (of 'Limerick you're a Lady' Fame) are you? He lived there with his mother in the '70's.
Back then the 3 windows you can see behind this house didn't exist. That was a derelict Coach house for sunville house, but was later totally rebuilt.

Denis Allen as well?? That house is steeped in Limerick legends. Sunville House was the home of the Cleeves family and then of Donogh O'Malley. We rented a lovely apartment (one of two) which was an extension of the original house with the entrance to the side as you see in the picture, that was a little over ten years ago, the main house was and probably still is owned by a prominent gynaecologist.

    I'm actually enjoying this! :D

Not my game but I'd say go for it for outside as well (though I definitely won't have a hope being a blow in as it is!)

Swiper's PIC looks like somewhere around Nicholas Street. I'm going to kick myself when I see the (correct) answer, it looks really familiar.
