Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there a central database of domain names in Ireland and is it regulated by anyone?

The IE Domain Registry manage the Irish registry and associate whois records

    www.iedr.ie

Used to be very strict (if you want PaddySmith.ie you needed to send them a copy of your passport) but its been a relaxed a bit since.

The .ie domain names are regulated by the IEDR, which has a record of who owns which .ie domain names.

Other organisations and domain registrars control other domain names with other suffixes. For example, .com domain names are regulated by a company called Network Solutions.

Thanks all for the answers. Very informative. Was looking at it from a regulatory perspective. It appears from the about section on ider page that comreg should have a role to play but don't appear to be doing anything.
