Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I tried to book a ticket on Irish Rail for Monday the 13th May from Heuston to Cork and I got the message "If this train is an InterCity service it is sold out" on every train from Heuston to Cork on this date.
I successfully booked a train from Cork to Heuston for the day before (the 12th May). There were loads available.
How could it be possible that an entire days schedule of trains could be booked out three months in advance?

Try again tomorrow. You may be outside the booking time

That's what I thought too but the later days in the week (14th,15th etc.) are available to book.

This will be the internet allocation of tickets is sold out. You should still be able to buy at the station. But I'm guessing it is going to be busy.

Thanks for the reply. That's effing unbelievable that they would be sold out so far in advance. Especially for a Monday train.

It may be that there is an event that day.

Olly Murs is playing the 3Arena that night but it's not sold out.

I tried to book a train for the 13th over the phone but the lady told me I was a bit too early and I had to wait until it was 90 days before the day I want to book (it is actually 90 days before but I didn't say that to her).
But I could book a train online for the 14th, 15th and 16th which is why I thought the 13th was sold out. It makes no sense.

It's not sold out. Try it in a day or two.

The trains became available just there at lunch so I bought my ticket. It was the way the days after it were available that threw me.
It's still poor design by Irish Rail to have a message saying they are sold out though. They could easily arrange it so it could say "trains are not available to book for this date yet" and even have a box where you could enter your email address and be sent a notification email when trains come online for these dates.
They are probably missing out on a few sales because of this.
