Joint 40th party - gift ideas

I'm going to a joint 40th party. The two people are friends of mine, and they are a couple. It'll be low-key enough, they have reserved an area in a pub. What would be a good gift idea? I can't afford E40 in each card. I was thinking maybe a restaurant voucher for E40/E50 between them. Would that be ok? Any other ideas?
