if anyone wants to mount a rescue bid, I'd have room under cover for at least one loco.

What is the story with C202/227 nowadays?

As it happens I have an empty farmyard now in my possession and I am thinking the current owner was disposed to it, I would be interested in making an offer. I am thinking maybe to cosmetically refurbish it, floor it out, some lighting and build a layout inside of it. I think transport will probably be the biggest cost.

I think the owner of all those locos had a visit to a "goverment hotel" so any preservation went on hold for a few years. It was on facebook a while back that the site was supposed to have been cleared.

C202 was moved to a private location in 2017 (believed to be in Cork).

I thought I recognised that graffiti. My old pal. this fella was in Bilberry for a long while before the greenway.

Any inkling as to where this "top secret" location might be?

227 (numbered as C202 for no good reason) is a rotted out empty shell.

226 is a not rotted out and mostly works.

227 attracts more interest because it is shrouded in mystery and excitement. Will it be restored by them? Will they paint it NIR blue? Will they fit a Crossley engine? Will they run it on the main line?
    Who are they?
We have a right to know!

Will it end up as razor blades? The most likely outcome in the Republic of Ireland.

ah to be fair i can't imagine it's good for anything else at this stage.
perhapse restore it as a static exibit and put a simulator in it but that's the only hope it has, and even then that is probably slim.
at least we have 226 and 231 and both work.

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.
