Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I remember thinking they were expensive when they were being sold for 1.5k - I think the going rate is 2.5k to 3k now.

You know they're expensive when someone is building repros without a monitor for 1000gbp and a lot of people seem to be interested.

In other arcade news, I've decided I needed a mini project to get me interested in my cabinets again (haven't used them in quite a while)

Was speaking to Alberto over on AO (the great control panel maker!) and he's going to make a 2L12B control panel for my SNK Candy cabinet with original SF2 artwork.

Going to dust off my SF2 CE board and start playing it again. Hasn't been on since it was in the Aero a good 5 years ago!

There was actually a problem with it where one of the kick buttons wasn't registering via the kick harness, so something to fix too.

On the down side it means removing an absolutely minty original SNK panel, however I'll put it aside for sometime in the future where I have another dedicated SF2 candy and can turn this back into a Neo Geo machine.

Either of those pins on Adverts worth the price - Woz for 5500 and TWD for 4500?

The Woz would be worth it IMO.

I've played the walking dead and its very good but the theme does nothing for me.

Pins popping up everywhere now. Iron maiden Pro on adverts today.

    Liquidating stock!

Not a modern game for sale in Ireland for years and now a WOZ,TWD and Iron maiden in the same week:eek:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

I've played that exact iron maiden. Actually a great game....tbh all of those pins are really good. Played WOZ in America and that's a good price for it. Out of my budget though

Looks like there maybe some question marks around the validity of the ads

The IM and WD are legit. I've seen them and know the seller.

The IM was actually part of the Irish pinball league meet in my house before

So I have a NeoGeo MVS MV1FZ board and a 161-in-1 cart and UniBIOS V4 which has the PICKnMIX feature. Very handy BUT you need to hold the start button when the board is powered up. So I wondered, wonder if someone has created a patch/fix to remove the need and someone (more info) did as a small PCB that you solder onto the NeoGeo board.

Problem, I got it and installed it and it does jack-all :D Need to see thats up with it, kinda installed it late at night and didn't have time to dig further.

Linky to the Unibios page with info, kinda turns your NeoGeo MVS with a 161in1 cart into a kinda multislot. Will rotate between the games and has a 'nice' pop up game menu if you want to jump to a game direct. It only shows 98 of the games as it drops most hacks from the list.
To ensure it though with latest/last Unibios version, you need to hold start upon power on which I forget never mind the kids. Thats what the board was meant to do for me :D

Update, had a play around with the board today and took a chance and removed C1 from the board and its started to work. No idea but not gonna question it :)

    Haha!

I absolutely hate when some arcade or videogame tat is in a shop and I get message from people sayings things like 'Oisin! check out what they have for sale in X shop!'

I recently had a load of messages from people when Lidl were selling those cheap Megadrive clone yolks.

I know folks are just trying to be nice, but it does make me worry as to how people actually view my hobby

Lidl did actually do some legit Mega Drive Mini consoles about a year ago though and they were on sale for a bargain so... you might have missed out!

I get similar too though, people are well meaning but it can get annoying especially if it's something you have absolutely no interest in.

"Hey, check out this Atari Flashback console! You'd love it!"

"I... already have an Atari 2600 hooked up to my CRT... but thanks?"

Not sure if any of you guys have bought much from Yaton on ebay over the years, was a bit of a staple shop for me many years ago.

I noticed he's gone from ebay, did a bit of sleuthing and it looks like they got sick of ebay fees and set up their own website.

His stuff is usually decent, besides parts he ships individual cabs too but pity the shipping is often more expensive than the cabs themselves when only buying one, have been tempted by an Astro City recently

China subsidizes a lot of shipping on packages/ smaller items to encourage exporting apparently, still seems rather too cheap though, last time I heard from him for full cabinets it was around $800 each to Ireland (reduces if you order more than one)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

I was wondering where they went..good selection of odd and ends and decent prices.

Anybody with a Sega Blast / Astro willing to split a purchase of this with me?

    https://yatonarcade.com/products/a-set-5x-locks-5-keys-with-6-tong-use-to-sega-astro-city-free-shipping?_pos=15&_sid=4ab196357&_ss=r

I need three of the cam locks for my blast (to make it all stock) but I wouldn't need the extra two.

So... anybody wanna split the order with me? I'd pay €45 you pay the remaining €30 then we split the postage cost?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

I actually ordered about 10 of those off AliExpress a few weeks ago...can't wait to get them in 2022

Went out to make space in the garage and ending up mostly putting the cyberlead together.

Definitely needs a respray down the road. A good clean will.do for now

If no one here has one spare Edwardo in Spain often has Hantarex parts, might be best to give him a shout and see if he has that'll fit the tube. Has some polo chassis like this which might work: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224287880185?hash=item34389973f9:g:L~0AAOSwZUNf4JCq

Actual Sega cam locks with paired keys or just generic cam locks? I ask because I already have the latter. :-P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

oh generics. I have some missing ones and some had to be drilled out so got a bunch. Those cyberleads take 6 locks each so id go broke looking for official ones for them haha

That's an original Polo (1st one, 15khz only). I don't have any of those spare unfortunately.

It does look a little rusty. Have you tried contacting Grant in UK? He services these and is very familiar with repairing them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

Not yet. I have a intervideo compatible one I saw for sale from Spain. Getting stuff to and from the UK now is a bit of a pain

Intervideo one is €100 shipped though

So my new wiring harnesses for the Blast City have ended up in.... Finland.

I really hope that Finnish post realises that it's not supposed to be there and forwards it on... very VERY frustrating though.

Folks... don't ever use Canada Post for anything. Ever.

I remember I had items which I posted to Australia being first shipped to Austria :D I'd say its a fairly regular occurrence

I had an SD2SP2 go from Croyden to LA to Dublin early in the 2020 lockdown. It somehow arrived before the replacement 8BitMods sent me did!

The tracking number is showing up in An Post's system now but the item is still in Finland so looks like the Finish postal service figured it out.

Only thing I'm thinking is... maybe there are no direct flights (even for Cargo) from Canada to Dublin right now.

Either that or Canada Post *seriously* messed up.

A plane flew over my flat the other night though (unusual considering most commercial flight paths over my house are usually heading to Spain...) and I got curious... it was a freight plane so *some* freight services are still going.

I guess I'll never know. I'm probably thinking about it too hard. :P

Picked this up for €50 off a friend the other day. Mega burn in!

Going to convert it to a dedicated cab. Definitely something 2 buttons because of the small CP. Also have to change the angle on that because more 30 seconds with your wrists like that and its torture

People keep saying that but I have 3 of these now , converted to dedicated games and the angle hasn't once been an issue to be honest.

Nice grab. There's still plenty of these around and they make for tidy conversions

Ah good to know. I'll leave it as is so. I just remembered playing bad angle poker before and it killing me.

Thinking of turning it into a 2p revenge of death adder machine

Does anyone have a resource for the control inlays for arcade games.

I need to make some for my Candy's but I can't find any good scans that aren't Japanese shooters. I did find a guy who makes his own ones and uploads them...some good work too

    Looking for Tekken tag specifically
