Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Protecting people, not data (GDPR)

PwC Schweiz/Suisse/Switzerland has an interesting article on "protecting people, not data" in its website.

While Switzerland has tried to bring its regulations into compliance with the GDPR, Swiss law is more focused on protecting the rights of the individual rather than protecting the data, as an entity.

"Switzerland’s efforts to revise the rules are geared to the principle of informational self-determination: an individual’s right to basically determine for themselves how their personal data will be used. This includes the right to decide who uses their personal data, who the data can be forwarded to, and what purposes it can be used for."

The average person is clueless on the implications of "signing up" for services etc. Switzerland seeks to educate 'the average person' - as well as putting a burden on companies and other data collecting entities to comply.
