Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So how many of you have been lock in for lockdown and are remembering your childhood?

Remember when cartoons used be great with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy Whacky races and all that?

Then in the 1980 there were transformers, Gi Joe, the Real Ghost Busters, etc etc

Those older than me can remember Tintin and Asterix?

I have been looking up these and bout them (cos they are not on Torrents):

The Mysterious Cities of Gold (season 1&2)
    Dogtanian
Willy Fog around the world in 80 days

    Once upon a time life

Anyone else want to add more?

    Danger mouse

Believe it or not, David Jason voiced the character Danger Mouse.

    Ulysses 31 was great.

Great story based on the Odyssey with a better OST.
The problem is the cost of the DVD on Amazon or Ebay is ridiculous.

Check out https://kimcartoon.to/ for some cartoons and stick on your adblocker.

    ---

For about 20 or so years, in fact, as long as I can remember, I have been seeking out the name of this show about dinosaurs an island that all have individual powers [which were like office tools; see link] and it melted my head.

No one I knew remembered it at all, so it had proved almost impossible to find.

Then a few weeks ago for whatever reason through a combo of remembering old shows and tracking them down I ended up on the TCC wikipedia page and lo and behold there it was looking at me:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Children%27s_Channel

Check out the wayback machine for the TCC website homepage and schedule:

    DIPLODOS!

The itch that it scratched, was like nothing else.

I also went on and had a listen to all the earworm intros I still remember to this day like Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Ulysses31 and of course the king of all theme tunes:

    Galaxy high
    Grave dale high
    Beverly hills teens
    Pole Position
    Jayce and the wheeled warriors
    James Bond Jr
    The Smoggies
    Trap Door
    Bobbys World
    Denver the last dinosaur
    Widget the world watcher

Used to like random episodes of all the video game / Music / Movie tie in shows.

Super Mario brothers super show and the other Mario cartoons there where a two or three i think?

New kids on the block had a cartoon

    Mc Hammer had Hammer man
    Mr T had a show
There's others I just can't think right away lol.

Basically I could sit here for hours thinking of shows from when I was a kid :pac:

I regularly go on Youtube after a few drinks and dive into theme tunes from the 80s and 90s and reminisce :D

    Dont forget:
    Incredible Hulk TAS
    Ironman TAS
    Spiderman TAS

There are now legal problems with Marvel and lisencing. There is no way to have all the same characters in the same show due to marvel selling off some characters in their near liquidation days.

Another stupid decision at Disney, axing the Gargoyles!!!
Only 3 season, great characters, orginal stories and character development.
Cross over with Batman....... then they cancelled it!!!

Seriously lads them fellas over at Disney arent the full shilling or they dont employ accountants.

I remember a kind of adult cartoon that I stumbled on when I was a kid. It was called 'wait til your father gets home'. Bit of a precursor to family guy. I used to love it.

I remember the animation on that was very basic, especially when it showed characters running.

All my favourites have been mentioned

Centurions, Ulysses 31, Thundercats, MASK etc
Ulysses 31 has, without doubt, the greatest theme tune ever.

This was another one I used to watch - Thunderbirds 2086

One thing I do know, they definitely do not make them like they used to. Saturday mornings were just the best!!

    Danger mouse

My mother is in a nursing home and was asking me to send her in a night dress. I bought an XXL Danger Mouse t-shirt. She loved it and said the nurses were all commenting on it.

    Danger Mouse lives on!

He- Man will never be forgotten.

I remember a captain planet where they visited Belfast and stopped the trouble with the provos and the loyalists by baking bread. Kids these days don't know what they are missing.

Another one was about bouncing bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere.

Remembered the above now. Gummy Bears.

No mention of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs?

Also one of my childhood faves The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers

What the hell happened to cartoons, things are supposed to get better as time progresses not worse, some of the drivel that passes for cartoons these days.
My daughter will be shown all of this old stuff for sure.

Best animated show has to be Batman the animated series.

Yeah, that's it. I do remember some very strange scenes that weren't expected in a kids show.
