Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Home, survived the day... Just! Now in jammies and slippers with the fire lit. Sympathies to all the sinus sufferers!

I need to stop reading this thread. Am imagining I have a sinus infection now.
    Or is it real?

Well be thankful it’s not nose 🍄

I am home about to light the fire whack on the heating and root myself to the couch for the night

I've had a constant sinus infection/cold for the past month, I wonder is it the mild weather, never had it going on this long in previous years

Homeside, but about to head to a public speaking class shortly. I have no problems with speaking publicly, but I talk very fast without even realising it, and I’m wondering if this will help with that.

On the M7 motorway, passenger in a car (relax! :D) on my way down to Kerry for a couple of days.

Yeah, and there goes my plans for mushroom soup for my tea.

I don't like mushrooms per se, but I make a few concoctions around Halloween...

Making a few calls to a few slow payers, its amazing the amount of calls you get when they want the job done and how hard it is to get them on the phone when it's time to pay up. I'm useless at this part of the job.
Feet up, a magnum in hand, going to watch the footie.

Fascinated by the sinus conversation, i do nasal rinses and massage too. Usually get sea salt and snort like a good 'un :pac: Mushrooms though.... Off to google with me..

Well as it happens, I’m getting teeth removed so I’ll have loads of room :D
I’m a romantic at heart after all

Not many of us romantic souls left Lexie, although peoples concept of romantic varies wildly. Some people consider holding hands romantic, others consider inserting hands where they shouldn't have any in as romantic. Thinking about it now, calling oneself romantic covers all angles. Well played Lexie, well played

At least he has a better dress sense on the train programmes than Michael Portillo on the bbc ones.

Couchside, public speaking class ran longer than expected and I’m glad to be home. Think it’ll help, there’s some drama involved too which keeps it entertaining :)

    Toastmasters?

Feeling sleepy, I'm off to bed before I sleep in the chair. I get grumpy if I'm wakened to go to bed, so they'd just leave me here, and I'd be twisted in to a knot if I was here too long.

No, it’s actually run by a woman who used to teach me drama in primary school, she started classes tonight

In bed, clean fresh sheets, fresh pjs and after a roasting hot bath and then shower. My 4th/5th wash of the day.

When I am rich I will have a maid who will change my sheets daily. The best feeling ever.

Bedside, hoping I’ll be able to get to sleep at a reasonable time tonight. Will try sleep after this episode of the Vampire Diaries

Have you tried putting salt down the drain followed by hot water?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,270 ✭✭✭✭smurfjed

Nespresso time on the balcony with the mutt, listening to the birds and the sound of prayer as we wait for the sun to rise. Absolute bliss.

Judging by the amount of sickness going on in this thread, there is no way that I'm going back to Ireland before March or April :)

Dishwasher tablet and scalding water is what I use!

    Still in bed, hyper

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,270 ✭✭✭✭smurfjed

I use that for cleaning surfaces not unblocking drains.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭La.de.da

Vinegar and soda crystals for unblocking, pine to make it smell nice. Or dettol, I love the smell of dettol.

Not to put a downer on it but I'm in a hospital room with my family beside my dad who's slipping away after a brief illness, its quiet sad but I'll cherish this time for life.

Still have a permanently blocked sink here; and still no washing machine plumbed in.
Oh! Today is the anniversary of ESB finally connecting the power here! Only took FIVE MONTHS of hassling the council and ESB... the final breakthrough was a call from our barrister as they could have been sued as they cannot leave old and disabled without power

Fascinating watching the engineer climbing the pole... the electrician then had to come as there is a demarcation dispute

It was rough that day and the electrician was terrified...

I never take power for granted..
