Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Even as a relatively new player myself Molly, I can totally understand how you got to that level of...passion. I recall something with Digi/Nigel in the WWE game where I had to say to myself, "Hold on, it's just a game man, put down the sword and make a cup of tea instead" :)

    Jan 7th suits me Necro. It is officially the deadest week of the year in my trade. Rather than head off with OH for a few relaxing days around then like usual, I would be delighted to play a game of Werewolf which will isolate me from the real world, detach me from the OH, make me frustrated just as often as it enchants me, see me type 'suspicious' about 400 times, forget that the rest of Boards exists...all of that, I'm in.

    Yeah, as much fun as it would be to name everyone after Disney characters, unfortunately previous games have shown us why that simply isn't possible.

    Not to say there won't be a few secrets mind you....;);)

    You can do it, but the roles would need to be randomized, so then scar could be a normal villager, and donald duck could be a wolf, everyone gets a character to play, but with no stigma of being good or bad. everybody knows the roles were sent out randomly and disney characters are just flavor.

    Still wont work. Nobody can claim to be anyone else, day one you go i am this person. Any one claims otherwise, 2 person lynch.Secret names is fine but then how do you say what char has what role? you can say the roles but then no team will know what powers exist in game with each char, nobody said their weas a priest :P

    But if the roles are randomized, it is of no advantage to say, you're not mickey mouse, i am, as nobody would know if mickey was good bad seer priest or whatever role. if two people said they were the seer though, thats when you have probems and two people need to be lynched.

    This is actually what I was planning on doing next year whenever I mod a game again. A totally randomised evil list where everyone gets a named character. Was thinking of using Fr Ted for it. Everyone's a bastard in that show and there's no obvious roles so anyone can be the priest/seer/wolf.

    Exactly. No one is more obviously the priest than anyone else.
    The other options me and Mr Molly discussed using for it were Battlestar Galactica, Friends or Southpark. You need a show where it's an ensemble with not too much focus on job titles. It's harder to think of than you'd expect!

    Pinocchio would probably be the interesting , tasks are all lying related but thankfully nobody can see your face. If I had to pick maybe I'd go Simba or more likely Genie though... please no Olaf!

    There are so many Disney princesses I'd probably make them all villagers if names were linked to roles

    It would in theory work but then disallows fake claims as raze said which is a part of the game. Sadly there's no real way to do it without doing what sKeith said and naming all characters, then randing roles so despite who your named character is you could be evil or not.

    The initial plan was to name all NRVs but it was pointed out to us that even not naming them in OP wouldn't be enough to prevent a mass reveal. We had a series of fake names lined up for the wolves to claim but abandoned the idea entirely and just went with NRVs.

    I'd love to name all the NRVs to allow for better immersion personally, but aside from simply using the theme as flavour and using sKeith's idea there's no real way to do so.

    Although... I could be talking through my hoop and have done something entirely different... you'll all just have to wait and find out I guess ;);)

    Character names independent of role would do it. Very possible with X-Men as most of the X-Men have been goodies and baddies at one stage or another so hard to tell if someone is bad or good based off character alone.
