Good Christmas Holiday

Hi my oh started a new job and is short on annual leave so we were looking at a Christmas holiday as his company are closed for a week or so.
Prices seem a little crazy though.

Really want a small bit of sun and relaxation so originally we were looking at canaries and these were working out at a couple of grand so decided to look further afield as might be better value . Our budget about 2000 to 2500- anybody any experience of holidays this time of year? Is Egypt still a no go?

This might not be your cup of tea but Christmas two years ago we went to Iceland for 5 days.
We hardly went out. But the hotel was amazing and we saw the northern lights all day and all night.
It was amazing. Then of course you had the spa and all the pampering etc.
And it didn't cost much either as it was so out of season there. Easily within your budget. Call the hotel you want though. For Iceland the internet rate is easily double the phone direct rate.
You wont get sun though

But you will get tons of magic and relaxation.

I know you said you tried the canaries, did you try Fuerteventura? Much cheaper than Tenerife or Lanzarote.

Have you looked into Dubai? We went two years ago and weather was really good. Look it up on Expedia and you can get a combined flight/hotel price.

You’re not kidding, they are about a quarter the price of Tenerife. Was there in September before, nice place if a little quiet but that’s what we’re looking for anyway. Thanks.

Hadn’t even though of Iceland but will check it out, thanks. Sounds amazing and would love to see northern lights!

Will look into Dubai and unlike the Canaries, I’d say we would be guaranteed plenty of sun! Thanks
