Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have French Marlboro Menthol at the moment, they're a little stronger.

More tar and CO according to the box anyway >_<

I started on Major and moved to Rothmans 20+ years ago , thanks to the corrupting influence of this forum I now find myself buying Major twice a week - God but they're great !

Always smoked B and H's but switched to Golden Virginia and Drum rollies 8 months ago, savings are incredible and also got 10 50gram packets in Spain last week for 48euro...

Started with Silk cut purple 100's (nicked them from the folks) then went on to Benson and have been smoking them now for 8 years. if they don't have them ill get John Player. Cant beat the Benson though :) and hate when the young ones call them "old man smokes" really gets on my nerves. if you must judge try to estimate someone by their character, the other is such a trite way to indulge in stereotype

My dad smoked Silk Cut, thus I can never smoke them (Friend swapped me one at some stage, didnt like it at all).

First pack I bought was Superkings Menthol (Festival of World Cultures in Dun Laoghaire last year) really enjoyed them, but I was hammered so I have no idea whether I'll buy them again.

Moved on to Marlboro Menthol, liked them, but forgot to bring a box to my debs so I had to buy lights, ended up smoking them for a good while. Couldnt actually get Menthols for a good while (Any time I went I just ended up getting lights). Couple of weeks later I got a pack of menthols and I just couldnt smoke them

Tried Lucky Strike Silver and loved them, but for some reason the really disproportionate amount of CO and Tar in them put me off them. Tried Pall Mall Blue, really liked them, but my throat was in bits, so I tried Pall Mall Orange and am still smoking them. Did try a pack of Marlboro Silver at one stage and they just tasted like bleach

Wow you're really having trouble taking up smoking but stick with it you will get there eventually.

The main difference with cigarettes with lower tar and nicotine is bigger holes in the filter, but you cover most of that with your lips and fingers while smoking it anyway.

I have no trouble, just seeing what's out there tbh.

No holes on the filters on Marlboro menthols, or at the very least they aren't visible like the ones on Marlboro lights.

Smoked Major for years. Started when 10 Major were 27 & half pence!
Then smoked B&H for a few years when I could afford 20's
Smoked Silk Cut Red ,Purple,Blue & even Ultra when I was playing football, soccer, etc.
Went through various phases - Dunhills, Rothmans,Marlboro,More,
Superkings,Embassy,Carolls,JPS,John Player Blue. And the 'Light' versions of them.
Started smoking Mayfair Lights a few years ago to save a few cent.
    Smoking them ever since

started smoking properly with Golden Virginia, cos a cousin used to smoke them, and I just followed suit when I started, mostly cos of price. A
fter a few months on that, and the odd pouch of Drum or Cutters Choice, bought a box of Silk Cut Purple on a night out, loved not having to roll up.

Two boxes later switched to B/H Gold, lovely, stuck at it for about a year, with the odd box of B/H Silver Slide, again lovely, but nearly got sick smoking one while desperatly hungover oone morning so steered clear since. Couldn't risk it
Last December bought a box of Silk Cut Purple for absolutely no reason and stayed there until last week, when I started smoking Marlboro Lights, again for absolutely no reason.

Anytime I smoked B/H since I switched they seemed very strong, but Silk Cuts or Marlboros are a bit light at times, so started to get temped to go back now.

heres the brands i used to smoke:

my first cigarette when i was 10: woodbines (puked afterwards)

John Player Blue from 14 -17
Silk Cut Purple from 19 -21
    Cutters Choice from 22-23
Golden verginia for 3 months at 27, then Camel Lights(blue),

Now on marlboro lights for last few months coz Camel Lights burn way too quick.

Hopefully an electronic cigarette in the near future so i can kick em again.

Started on B+H then stuck with Carrolls from 16-23 with the odd box of Marlboro or Lucky Strike for a change. Spent the last year smoking whatever crappy ones are cheap up north and rolling tobacco. With the exchange rate etc. there's not much saving up there so I'm going to be trying to stick to rolling tobacco/Carrolls for the odd treat for a while.

Started off with Camels, then went to Lucky Strike which I'm on now.

I occasionally go for Marlboro Reds or Phillip Morris, if there's nothing else.

I started on Marlboro gold before moving to Benson and Hedges Silver. When I changed to rollies, I started on Drum but I changed after it started staining my teeth like crazy. Golden Virginia is what I mostly smoke now, but I do like the odd pouch of old holborn.
