a go fast boat for the sea & lakes

    hey gang

    im looking to get some advice as to which kinda kayak or canoe i should take if i wanna be able to do day trips and travel fast in straight lines. - basically a racer bicycle in water terms, just for one passenger

    any advice on this would be great

    Have you paddled before? A surfski which is like a sit on top k1 racer, would be ideal but they take a lot of practice to get used to and are quite expensive to buy new, and next to impossible to pick up second hand.

    Are there any retailers for Surf Skis, like the ones they use for Surf Life Saving in Australia, have seen a couple about Cork this Summer. if so it could be a good option, but not for beginners as they have a good habit of making people look stupid...

    generally you have to buy them through the manufacturers or their agents. Retailers don't stick them or anything in ireland . . not a lot of demand for them.
