Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone got a secondhand or new set of the foot deflectors for a 650 Deauville?

  • Registered Users Posts: 91 ✭✭Jackdaw89

A for-sale/wanted tread is a great idea. It might get hard to follow if it really takes off, The one over in the shooting section is a very easy format to follow and handy use. Would it take allot of effort on a mods part copy that layout?

Oh no you're not one of them! :D

Also, 190 for a second hand helmet, do people really pay this kind of money for second hand lids. I wouldn't put my hand in my pocket for one.

lol it was a present and only worn a few times and I didn't like it so no point on it sitting on a shelf forever, as for the price I'll take offers on it ;)
It's a beautiful lid in fairness and in as new condition, not even a bit of fly sh1t on it :)

Ladies size 6 boots. They are ok quality and used, but still serviceable.

I can't see the make, but think aldi/probiker level of quality.

I'm based in Cork and can meet in the city during lunchtime.

Hi lads and ladies, I'm doing a bit a clear out and I need to sell the crumb rubber flooring in my garage. Its very very heavy duty, 10 mill thick and is well above anything available in retail.

My missus picked it up from her uncle who uses it commercially. The tiles cover an area 220cm x 400cm (8.8 sqm) and could be cut to cover a different shape if needed.

    473935.jpg

    473936.jpg

The equivalent is £40 per sqm on amazon. I'm looking for €200 for the lot. Can be collected from Dublin 12.

Does the registration certificate have to have the up to date engine number, because one I'm looking at has a replacement engine but the old engine number is on the registration documents.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,476 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

Yeah a change in engine number is supposed to be notified to Shannon.

Have never ridden a bike with abs or disc brakes, does it take much to lock up disc brakes on a bike, I know that won't happen with abs,but longer slowing down distance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,476 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

pretty much any bike since early 70s has disc brakes....???? Honda CB750 and Kawasaki Z1/Z900 were the first "superbikes" and had five gears and disc brakes

Since then drums ave been on bargain basement yokes like the Suzuki AX100. I had the GP100 as my first bike, same frame and engine, but disc front brake and alloy wheels, dead posh :)

Honda CG125s were front drum also, but they're well gone now

Way back ~50 years ago there was stuff like Ducatis and Triumph/BSA 750 triples with double-width twin leading shoe drums, some even raced in that form, would surely have been cheaper and lighter to just fit discs, but some quarters of the motorcycle world had a strange reluctance to embrace new technologies.

    Scrap the cap!

I have an Acumen Digi 8 Digital Gear Indicator that is no use to me anymore.
I has the connection loom for a Suzuki SV650, so not sure if that one works on other Suzuki's, but the gear indicating part is common to all bikes.

Shout if you want it: hate to bin it - will post at-cost.

I assume it would fit the DL650 as well? Could always do with a spare.

The read out is common to all bikes, the only custom part is the mini-connection that comes separate. I'd imagine that Suzuki's don't vary much. PM me if you want it.

I'm looking for a Honda cbf600 2007 on with abs, hopefully we'll looked after, I know JP in pearse st has one but it's 2005.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭IrishGrimReaper

From 08 on the model uses Fuel Injection. I haven't checked the price difference between an 07 and 08 but if you can stretch the budget get an 08, the Fuel Injection model comes with ABS as standard.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/motorbikes-for-sale/honda-cbf-600-09-35k-miles/21396707
Looks immaculate and I'd try to haggle a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,769 ✭✭✭horse7

Thanks I saw that one on done deal. There's also a nice naked one on done deal in Athlone, it's 2009 but no Abs, seems abs wasn't standard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭IrishGrimReaper

Grey colour doesn't do the bike any favours tbh.

Seems like the naked version doesn't come with ABS. If you're really determined on it you could buy one in the UK like I did.

Black looks much nicer, this dealer is also in Stoke offering nationwide delivery so can't see it been an issue for them to meet you beside Hollyhead. Book a return ferry from Dublin and you'd land the bike + vrt + tax + full tank for under €3400

    https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201903135830107?model=CBF600&advertising-location=at_bikes&sort=price-asc&make=HONDA&year-from=2008&radius=1500&postcode=ml12de&page=1

    Just an idea :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,769 ✭✭✭horse7

Thanks, will try check out the 2009 one. Anything to look for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,037 ✭✭✭IrishGrimReaper

As long as they look well minded and you trust the seller you should be grand.

I've put over 4k miles on mine in 6 months and haven't had a single issue.

I wanted a faired bike because I go on long trips/motorway regularly enough. But if I was in the market for a naked one I'd probably consider the Hornet instead. I was quoted cheaper Insurance on the hornet, but it's physically smaller too which was an issue for me.
